Found the deal at Bunnings Belrose.
I am not sure whether it is nationwide clearance.
The blower/vac is 2400W and the line trimmer is 500W.

  • 500w for line trimmer?? Can't imagine that'd do too well…if there's a strong breeze would the spool still spin? :p

    • Most brand name petrol trimmers are around that output.

A Honda 25cc 4 stroke motor outputs 720W before transmission losses (in their trimmer it's rated for 810W some how) and a Stihl 2 stroke 27cc line trimmer is advertised as 620W.

2 stroke engines are meant to output around 2x the power as they have double the power strokes. It shows you how cheaply most 2 stroke line trimmer motors are built that they output less than half of what they should.

That Blower/Vac literally and figuratively sucks and blows - left mine on the footpath for another sucker to take after about two or three uses. Not well designed IMHO - cumbersome/awkward to use… ineffective

  • Looks ok https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I4hTcBYvYpc
I have a small courtyard with 4 sqm of grass. This would perfect.

    Stupid question but
    will another Bunnings match this?

    • I want to know this too.

      • Not available in Mackay. Seems like the deal might be very localized.

    • +4

No they don't price match clearance stuff or from own stores

@D6C1: sorry for a completely incoherent statement.
          To clarify
Bunnies staff can be aggressive, non co-operative, completely dishonest, ect ect.
I showed them the ozito battery mower deal for $99 and they said I must be in Cahoots with staff in Victoria. ect cops ect stealing ect.
          Sorry,
but if I didn't have a thick skin now as an ozbargainer , shit may / may not have gone down.
Probably not (as more of keyboard warrior)
          Ha farking Ha.

          PS,. what ,. what.
          What !!

          Deal with it.

    • From what i know/have tried/have read it all comes down to the invidual store.

Some will, some won’t. Mileage will vary.

  • Is that nationwide?

  • Thanks OP,
Can I ask how much the 18V cordless blower, hedge trimmer and grass trimmer NEXT to it was?
Perhaps $130 or even $80. The website has that at $179.

    • +1

      petrol all the way

    • I think $80.00 for the 18V cordless set.

      • The blower alone is worth about that.

  • I just called up Bunnings in Springvale (VIC) and it's at full price $89. :(

Just to be clear in case those were in the same boat as me, these are NOT battery powered and are corded.

Needed to check twice as I originally thought this kit was the Ozito Power X Change range!

I didn't need to check twice, common sense prevailed!

Wont neg this deal, but I will never buy Ozito.

    Have had 2 bad experiences.

    1. Ozito submersible pump
Bought it with good intentions to use but never used it until 10m after I bought it.
Finally switched it on, and it failed within a week. Wouldn't pump. Couldnt find the receipt, so didnt try to get it repaired under warranty.

    2. Bought a leaf blower / muncher. Used it 3 times in 12m. After 14m, decided I would use it again and it wouldnt suck (not blocked with leaves or anything).
(this was before the Aust Stat warranty)
Went to Bunnings, they fobbed me off to Ozito.
Tried many many times over a week to try to speak to someone who could help me. Each time I was unsuccessful.
Eventually, I got someone, and they said to me "Sorry out of warranty cant help you".

Wont buy anything from them again.

Ozito has a three year warranty. If you'd kept your receipt, it would have been a simple swap.

      • +1

My mum bought an ozito blower vac from bunnings the bag tore and she took it back 3 times before asking for a refund. The people at the store said that happens and most people only use it as a blower.

      • Have you ever tried to keep a receipt for three years?
Even if you keep it, good luck in remembering where it is!
A three year warranty can pretty much never be claimed.

just scan it and save to cloud, easy as is…

        • +1

          Camscanner mate!

        • +1

I'd also recommend Evernote (or other note taking app) for this. Saved indefinitely.

        • +1

I scan all my receipts with Google Drive app (Android).

        • @monsignor: Oh, I've never thought of scanning and saving to the cloud (and I'm not being sarcastic).
Thanks for the tip, I'll do that from now on!
Do they acknowledge a scanned receipt?

    • +1

i used to work at bunnings and i'd always recommend Ozito for home use, cheap as chips and three year warranty like Fiza said below.

I bought a chainsaw and the whole side (including a flying chain fell off).. Had a good look at the design…it has zero/ nada/ no screws holding the chain in place. Purely uses chain tension to hold together. Chains expand, chainsaw comes apart.

Can't believe these get through oz design regulations. Same design still on shelfs today. Do not buy!

But if you are stubborn and still do, get the ole duct tape out and wrap it around a few times. It might save your life.

  • Thanks, bought the cordless tool set. It is actually on clearance price $60.

  • I've got the blower and that was for $39. So this is a steal! works really well tbh.

  • I called my local Bunnings in regards to this deal - Nope still Full Price, however the did inform me that when the product line falls to 20 or less in stock they heavily reduce the item price.
I've been told to call back in a fortnight.
