Recently I've found that simply holding the device or chucking it on your lap is just becoming too much of a hassle. I've seen a few Belkin car dock/FM transmitter kits for $99-150, but feel it's a bit much for the convenience.
So does anyone else use this type of device and have any recommendations? What would be a good time or place to pick something like up? Cheers in advance.
The FM transmitters are useless in places like Sydney - there's simply no clear band that will work throughout the city, due to all the little local FM stations.
Why don't you just get a bluetooth handsfree? That is what they are made for, and they are heaps cheaper than $100.
My new car has bluetooth built into the stereo system, so I just check the phone in the console and away we go! I charge it using a (shock horror) standard $1 USB cable and cheapo $5 car charger!
