  • Good price, are they any good?

  • Reviews seem good. Doesn't seem to have x input though.

    • +16

I own this controller and if you install the drivers from the Asus site Windows views it as an Xbox 360 controller and it works with any xinput games.

for this price it's a steal

      • How do you like it?

Looks like it needs rechargeable batteries. Can you charge it up via USB cable?

        • +15

          Takes 2x AA Batteries.

          I suggest OzBargain's Favourite, Eneloop.

        • +1

Yes it needs batteries and no it can't be charged via USB.

I bought 4 of these at around 19 each to use for multiplayer with my steam link, they do the job. They do lack force feedback though.

One annoyance with android is that you cannot remap the home button to be something else so you may find yourself exiting apps by accident as its right in the middle.

@El Chyeah: You mean rumble not force feedback?

        • @El Chyeah:

Do the Left and Right joysticks have a button on them (ie L3 and R3) ?
I generally don't like these buttons, as they're kinda "sticky" on some controllers… however there's plenty of (fps) games where you need to use them and its not possible to remap them.

The iOS/Apple versions of these controllers (MFi) don't have these L3/R3 buttons, for instance.

        • @Kangal: pretty sure it has those buttons, it pretty much has every button that a 360 controller has. I can check when I get home.

        • @El Chyeah: Hey man I know it's a bit late but I'm having trouble pairing it with my laptop's bluetooth. Any tips?

I've downloaded the drivers for my PC (oddly, there's 2 executables of varying file sizes in the rar file that you get from ASUS website) - restarted - turned on controller to pair but the blue lights go out too quickly before they pair.

        • @jikijiki: Re you running Windows 10?

      • thanks for that info…

If my X360 controller conks out, I'll know what to get next time.

  • ouch this looks like a nice controller with more….buttons than the pokken one

    • I hope they cancel by pokken order :(

  • thanks took 3 browsers and about a dozen goes but I believe I've secured 2.

But $16.50 shipping is pretty pricey

    • +1

that is probably what it costs them. Other shops subsidise shipping because people would rather pay more for the item and less for shipping. psychology.

      • +5

I figure if I can buy a 1kg satchel for $11, an online business can get them much cheaper.

anyway it is what it is. if only they'd use ebay plus like Computer Alliance :-)

    • they're brisbane based

      $7.70 for delivery within brisbane

      • thats in the 4000 CBD. even Woolongabba is $11.

        • i tried milton 4064

        • +1

          @phunkydude: must be a ferry charge ;-)

    • Qty Limit: 5 per Order

  • Thanks ordered just because it's bluetooth

  • I assume the description is a cut and paste but really, a controller won't do any of those things

  • Shipping just went up in Brisbane. I tried ordering 5 but then realised the chances of my friends actually wanting one were quite low

    • +1

I bought 2 Gamesir controllers. One's been sitting under my TV in a box, untouched for over 2 years now.

Give it away for Christmas or something.

  • +4

Anyone in Sydney want one? Happy to split the shipping.

    • Hey, I wouldn't mind splitting shipping cost.

      • Count me in

        • How do we do this

        • +1

@packtt: $11 shipping when I added 5. If we can find 5 that will be great.

        • @ktks:
          We have 4 now right?

        • I don't mind doing it if you all transfer me the $$$. Can either met in the city. PM me your email address. I will do it tonight (if it is still available).

        • @ktks:

          Count me in too

    • Count me in but how do we do this?

    • -1

I just bought 3 but need only 2.

Shipping was $12 so happy to share split shipping for one controller

      • I would be happy to buy that other controller if you don't need it.

      • ill take it too if the other guy bails :)

      • -1

whoever pms me 1st can have it

    • Count me in if possible.

    • im in!

    • +2

This is beautiful, true OzBargain spirit

    • i would love to join in too. can i afterpay you?

  • Would this be suitable for Retropi?

    • +1

Yes, does the trick. I set my mapping with the right thumb joystick push as the hot key in order to escape games when pressed in conjunction with start.

  • got 2 thanks! checkout was a little buggy, I had to select credit card and then it took me to a paypal page

  • Website is dying for me. Can't get to checkout.

    • Yea its getting ozbargaind hard… Can't checkout either.

  • can you connect these to a snes mini?

  • damn it I wanted to get one so bad but site down :(

    • yes it is :(

      • not to mention they are probably out of stock because some (profanity) on here buy 10 at a time

  • I'm after two in Brisbane, if anyone manages to get any. Happy to split post. I'm getting on a and from Perth so can't get to it until late tonight or tomorrow. Damn you, Ozbargain!

    • Managed late last night to get through checkout so if you want one, have another crack.

  • Back in stock it seems. Allows me to add to basket.

  • +2

I've literally spent over an hour trying to get this, even though the site is up now I still can't get past the final payment stage.

  • +2

The site is running horribly, may not be possible to complete order. Keep getting "Cart time out" error.

    • +1

      same

      • Same FML

  • +1

i am giving up, next time maybe

  • +2

Managed to get my order through and payed via paypal. But all the fields in the order confirmation screen were blank so I'm pretty sure I've just given them money for a glitched out order…

    • +2

      Same…. my invoice from savit
Showed $0…… my PayPal show $21.94

      • paid $24 delivery to Perth with extra insurance

  • Just got past the Paypal page and bought some; get yours quick.

  • it now has; Limit 1 per customer

  • Looking like out of stock. Now at least its listing 1 per order. Stock Quantity listed as "On Order"

    • Confirmed with Live Chat this morning, Out of stock, no back orders on sale stock.

  • can we use this on Iphone with no jail break?

  • Can I connect this to my PC? or do I need to purchase a Bluetooth receiver?

  • +1

Wow, ordered 11pm last night and arrived ony doorstep 3pm today. Impressive! Super happy with that!

    • Ordered mine this morning and it was there at home @ 5pm for me!

  • Apparently my order for five came through, was sent an invoice and just paid it. House party time I think!

  • My credit card has been debited, but I have no confirmation email. Anyone else?

  • Ordered on 31st and already delivered to Sydney just now

  • my 2 just arrived, for some reason it seems to pair with everything (android etc) but my computer where it asks for a pin and will accept nothing… Could this be related to the bluetooth receiver I have?

    • Try to install the driver from ASUS website. It might get resolved.

    • I got it working:

      1. Install the drivers from the Asus Website. https://www.asus.com/au/Home-Entertainment/Gamepad-TV500BG/H…
      2. Turn on your gamepad and then hold the start and back (the circle and arrow) buttons together for 4 seconds to enter pairing mode
      3. Right click on your Bluetooth icon and click on "Join a Personal Area Network" then hit "Add a Bluetooth device"
      4. When it asks for a pin, just click continue. For some reason you can proceed from the Personal Area Network screen without a pin but not from the usual Windows 10 bluetooth screen.
      5. Profit. You may have to reboot
  • I got a Paypal receipt, but no confirmation email. I'm thinking that their website didn't link the payment to the order, since the website was glitching hardcore with cart timeouts and the like. Also nothing is appearing in My Recent Orders when I log in. Just sent an email now asking them to check it out. Will post up what happens.

    • So I got a tracking status automatically logged with my AusPost app yesterday from COMPUWORLD, which is strange because I've never heard or ordered from them before. The package arrived today (Express Post) and it is my ASUS Gamepad.

COMPUWORLD seems to be a distributor/wholesaler, so looks like SavOnIT must have used them as a drop-shipper. I Don't care, I got the gamepad.

Noticed that a lot of games of Steam only natively work with XBOX 360 controllers, a quick Google search later and I had downloaded an emulator from here, https://www.x360ce.com/ , which works amazingly well. All I had to do was run it and it recognised my controller and assigned the correct button automatically. Do make sure you install the drivers and follow Akaakmdm's advice on the post above mine, before running the emulator.

Tested it on Darksiders 2 and worked perfectly.

  • Anyone get these to work with Xiaomi mi box?

    • +1

Yes, it did pair with my mi box and I was able to play.

  • Wondering if this feels better than an Xbox one controller.. Pretty much deciding between those two atm.

Might sell my steam controller it is not what I intended.
