Hisense TV Model Names Help

Hello all,

I am a very curious sort of person, and need to know stuff before I buy. Sort of my obsessive compulsive I suppose…
I can't be the only one thinking this….can I?

I've always had questions regarding the Hisense TV model names, and there being so many models available on the market.

I want to know the difference between all the models.
And don't just say the higher the number, the better. I want to know the technical differences between the models…

There are just so many models such as:
* P4
* P5
* P6
* P7
* P8
* P9
* N4
* N5
* N6
* N7

I've downloaded the specs of a few, like the N4 and N5, but found no difference whatsoever, so why so many different models?

Thanks in advance all.

    N=2017 model
    P=2018 model
    4,5,6,7,8,9=4 is worst model, 9 is best. For example the 9 might have the best screen and 4 won't

    Get the N7 or P7, P8, P9 depending on budget. I'm in the same boat :-)

  • The letter designates the year that the model was released and the higher the number the more higher end the tv is.
    I don't know the specification differences between each model but going from memory I believe the 7+ series have HDR.

  • Thanks peeps, but I was expecting more technical details.
    Maybe that will come soon…still early days for this post.

    • Check the Hisense website and you'll see the difference between the 6, 7, 8, 9 etc.

      For example:

      P8 adds Quantum Dot
      P9 adds Prime Array Backlight

      More technical? Cmon, it's not rocket science it's just a level grading system. The letters don't stand for anything, and the numbers don't signify a certain number of anything.

      It's just an increasing scale, simple.

  • As above, however as you increase series number you get better quality/more features, naturally.

    i.e.
    * Series 4 - Full HD, Series 5 and above UHD (4K)
    * Series 5, 6 - HDR, Series 7, 8 - HDR Plus, Series 9 - HDR Extreme
    * Series 7 and above - 'ULED'

    like the N4 and N5, but found no difference whatsoever

    Com'on, you're not even trying. If you want help, put in a little effort yourself. 4-series: 1080p. 5-series: 4K.

    You can go read all the specs here:

    Thanks all.

      I think perhaps people don't want to be googling things FOR you when you can do it yourself. It's really not that hard to find out, and people were helpful to start which you weren't happy with.

      • Fair enough….

    So is it worth getting a P7 or P8 this year or hang on for the HiSense OLED due early next year?
