    That's a Whopping.

In all seriousness - what's the difference from your last post? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/402031

  • That IS a Whooping.

No need for this deal, ScoMo has already promised to bring down energy prices

    • it'd be delusional to believe that he can turn back the time machine.

Just whack up a couple of coal seam gas power stations and we're good to go

After everytime review done by high commission than price goes up bank home loan and saving interest rate are the example of it coz they need to cover the money has been charge by that idiot high commissioner 😂

      • not really, last time the review on the banking surcharge think make airfare surcharge substantially affordable and now i don't have to scratch my head to use my credit card to buy gift voucher and calculate how much giftcard in what denomination to pay for that $29 sale fare.

Is there an english translation of your comment available?

My AGL plan is cheaper than this. No deal.

Just be aware they've got a really dodgy way of discounting, with the discounts credited on the next bill. That means if you cancel, you won't get a discount on your final bill. I almost signed up but their rates are pretty high without their pay on time discount.

    • Yes, this is dodgy AF.

    • +1

actually you won't get discount on first bill but will get discount off final bill (offset from the second last bill credit). The only way to win a head them is to time your port out just when your last bill hit that second last bill credit so you'll essentially got almost free final bill. But it's quite hard to achieve this.

  • personally, I would reword this slightly, as it's shamefully cut on the regular site

Plus, we'll double your monthly bill…

  • Hmmmm Jemina Victoria

    Amaysim
    Rate: 34.10c/kWh (35% discount 22.17c/kWh)
    Supply: 94.93c/day (35% discount 61.70c/day)

    Tango
    Rate: 19.28c/kWh
    Supply: 92.40c/day

    Supply is ~$9.50/mth cheaper
if you use less the 10kWh/day Amaysim is cheaper.

But the Solar plans are interesting if you export a lot
    Solar FIT 18c/kWh
But the discount is only 14% (Net of Solar FIT, which I believe the 14% is off the total after FIT credit. So if your bill is $100 & FIT credit is $60, you only get 14% off off the $40), Which makes it a bit complicated. But if you a bit export more then you consume in kWh, Amaysim looks cheaper.

So coming into the summer months, it might be worth switch as there's no lockin contracts. But if your bills are higher due to aircon, you might be better with the lower rates, no discount BS with Tango.

  • If you are going to sign up to this mob, do it during winter. Otherwise your first summer bill, with no discount (and with air-con use), might send you bankrupt. I joined them, got a $150 credit. Once it's used up I'm leaving.

Oh and after I signed up, they sent me an email saying that if the account is in credit, no discount applies, so I missed my discount on my first 2 bills. That credit vanished quickly due to their BS discounting.

    • Yeah its a common issue with all these energy discount scams err schemes. If you have solar, your credit wipes out most if not all discounts.

      • I think Sinners is saying that with the $150 signup credit they received. Since it was credited before their bills they didn't get the % off discount usage for the first 2 months.

  • I need to sign my Electricity now, which company is cheapest? Where can I compare this?

    • Govt comparison website?

    • I used the Govt site first to compare then uploading my bill on the company website it came out even better…flipped from AGL on the max discount they could offer to Globird for Elec + Gas

  • RUN, SCAMMERS

  • Can someone please post an invoice with solar panels to make the comparison. I do export a bit and switchon website show these guys as cheapest.

Or can someone please recommend based on some calculations the breakeven?

    Thanks in advance.

      Ok, to make it simple

Amaysim in simple terms give you 0% discount if you are in credit. So with this deal you wont get any discount for the months the credit is offered. This might be handy in spring, as you generate a good amount of solar as….

When you arent in credit, your solar feed in is also discounted by x %. In my case they say 20c FIT. But 33% discount means it is really around 13c…

And then, that net discount is only applied to the next bill. Which could see you in credit and no discount next bill.

So, I'm taking the previous sign on credit ($50, and before that $125), then moving to AGL or Dodo. *If you don't have a smart meter, try and sign up to Amaysim just over 1 month before meter reading.

Interestingly, I rang all power companies, told them my usage pattern and said you get one chance to offer me the best plan you can for my situation. AGL offered me a deal not advertised with a 17c Fit and day charge close to Amaysims discounted rate. Unlike Amaysim Discount isn't applied to FIT.

They are a bunch of liars. In my experience, with Dodo, Telstra, old Mysoul, any bank or anything else, if you have a problem, these companies help you and if they stuff up, they give you stuff.
    These guys just lie.

I was going to change just electricit to them, but they called me and said if I swap gas as well, they would give me 250$ credit. That's all they said. My first bill came and only half was there.
I ask why. They said the other half is coming after 12 months. I said there was no mention of it coming after that time, he just said 250$.

They said we can't do anything. They said we can listen to the call and see what was said. I said good, then you will give me the other $125. Now, they don't want to talk about it.

    Scam.

    • 😂😂😂

    • or anything else*

*Disclaimer: TPG doesn't listen or help.

    • It would be a scam if they wouldn’t give you anything

      • We'll, they gave a bit. But not all. So, still a scam because they didn't do what they said. And by the sounds of it, they know it too. I think I'll stick with Dodo from now on. They gave me heaps of free stuff when they made a small mistake.

I think it’s your fault, you got tricked, you didn’t ask enough questions, you got fooled but you are blaming someone else

        • @Salian: I think you are a fool if you think it is any way my fault that they lied to me and good luck to you.

You're right. I didn't ask any questions. It was clear what they offered me.
It's a bit like buying the 2 for one specials at the supermarkets. But when you go to pay, they say you get the other one next year.

They stuffed up and they know it. That's it

        • @MrCAMEL:

Yeah unfair trading policies, they will do anything for new customer.

It is a good trick tho: promise to give something but don’t mention when. Hah. Companies should not be doing that.
