I pre-ordered FIFA for $69 the other night during the boosted 10% CR offer, predicting that Amazon would match the Gamesmen's deal (which would make it cheaper overall).

Two days later, and the price was still $69 so, like the OzBargainer I am, I contacted Amazon just then asking if they would match the Gamesmen's price on eBay and the price was changed just minutes after.

I asked if they would also match the additional eBay 5% discount (I cited that they did the same thing for Spiderman from the exact same seller using the exact same eBay code) however he said that couldn't be done BUT he instead applied an additional $4 discount to my order, which brought it down to $62. As such, perhaps you should try contacting them to see if you can get any additional discount.

As such, the effective price of this can be brought down to $55.80 if you took advantage of 10% CB, or even $58.30 if use the standard 6% CB rate.

EDIT: A key point I forgot to add is that using expedited shipping (free for Prime) will guarantee it arrives by release date, which is something the Gamesmen can't guarantee (and is already highly unlikely) as they will only be posting it out just 1 day before release whereas Amazon will send it at least 2 days before. The Gamesmen rep confirmed that even if you pay extra for Express shipping, they still can't guarantee it would arrive on release date, which is quite a drawback for those that play Ultimate Team.

Not a bad price for a new release

      Not a good price either…

      I think I paid around $30 for FIFA 18

      • Far out. That is a good price!

        • It was in December last year, so I expect the prices do drop around then.

        • @jv:

By December, people are already thinking about the next release =)

        • @tightm8:

          and saving money.

      • Did you get it for $30 on release?

        • Of course not

        • @tempura: Which is my point, obviously the price will keep going lower the further away from release date you get. Especially with a game that has a yearly release cycle like FIFA.

      • when? I got it for $40 in December.

Edit: answered it sorry just saw now. Ignore please!

Might have been closer to $40, but it was definitely in the 30s…

  • ..

  • Will be $64 at big w on release or $59 delivered @ kogan with referral code.

    • Will be $64 at Big W

Will most likely be $64, still has not been confirmed, although yes it is highly likely they will continue their yearly trend.

      $59 delivered at Kogan

Main downside of Kogan is that they will only send it out on the 28th, (which is a Friday), meaning you would instead be looking at receiving it on Tues/Wed. Also will require Shipster (which shouldn't be too hard to find a free trial for) to avoid delivery fees (it showed $6.70 for me).

On face value, I admit both those options you have listed are better however I feel this is a worthy deal since a true OzBargainer would be able to use the additional avenues of discounts for this particular Amazon listing. (ie. Cashback + potential additional $4 discount if you do a quick 5-minute online chat with them). Doing this has led me to only be paying $55.80, which is significantly better than those other options, and that's before considering the fact I have been guaranteed to receive it on release date, without having to leave home on my day off.

      • True if you can get it down to $55 then that's impressive!

  • Cheers for this, the grubs better deliver it by release though. I'm not impressed with Amazon's delivery times thus far.

    • The 28th is a public holiday in Melbourne too so I hope they take that into account

    • I've been super impressed. Have ordered in excess of 25 orders and never had any issues. The one time they had a delay they credited me $15. Delay was about 2 weeks

  • But seriously, why is Firewall Zero Hour (https://www.amazon.com.au/Firewall-Zero-Hour-PSVR-PlayStatio…) still on pre-order, when it is released everywhere? I have spoken to Amazon, and they said they will fix it, by it's been two weeks now!

  • Any good price for download codes? Just can't use discs anymore…

    • +1

Unfortunately nothing too good at the moment.

A few days ago it was 209 TL (=$45 AUD) on the Turkey PSN store, however the price got changed back to 359 TL a day later.

If you play career mode, no major changes besides Champions and Europa League licenses.

I've got Fifa 17, is the game play a big improvement?

Thinking of getting it for the fresh squads but if game play is more advanced it'll be a bonus

    • Why not download the demo and try for yourself (only around 8GB) :)

  • Is this a physical copy? Did they confirm it will definitely arrive on Friday? It's public holiday

    • Yes, can confirm it's the physical copy. Also they do guarantee it will arrive on Friday if you choose expedited shipping (it should still arrive Friday without but they won't guarantee it, and considering expedited is free with prime there's no reason not to choose it).

If they somehow don't you can bet I'll be requesting some sort of voucher in compensation…

P.S. place your order first then contact support asking if they would match the eBay 5% code as it is also 66 at Gamesmen eBay store. I was able to have a further $4 discount added to my order (makes it $62, not to mention 10% cashrewards), which would bring it to $55.80)

  • Did any of you guys get your Champions Edition today? It's a day earlier

  • Anyone that ordered the standard edition have theirs dispatched yet? Was meant to be done today…
