    Foxtel Now Box

"Hey Foxtel, Play Max Gawn highlights…."

      Foxtel Now Box:
“Sorry jv, there were no matches for highlights… did you mean Play Max Gawn Fails?”

  • Can anyone figure out where you input the discount code?

    • It’s targeted and only works on website. I have gotten it twice by now

      • There doesn't even appear to be a field to enter any voucher code.

        • it's at the last step before check out.

Pay money to pay money to watch tv. Sounds dope

  • FYI the Foxtel streaming is abhorrent. Can literally use this device to stream Netflix Stan etc etc BETTER than what this does its own service. But, its my only option so I take what I can get

** may cause eye strain or headaches the first week or so until you get used to the stuttering

  • What does this actually do?

      • It's an Android box designed specifically to stream Foxtel Go content: https://www.foxtel.com.au/foxtel-go.html
      • It has Chromecast built-in. So even if you don't use it for anything else, you can use it to cast from any device that supports Google's Chromecast
      • It also has bluetooth built-in. I haven't tested this yet, although I've seen it pop up as an available BT device
      • You can install many Android apps on it - except Netflix. I imagine there should be a work around for this.
      • Stream live TV via apps: ABC, TEN, Seven. No SBS
      • If you get an air mouse, and Install Android games, you can play games on it. Hanven't tested this.
      • It also has antenna input. So you can watch Free to Air on this device as well.

I bought this to catch up on games from the World Cup this year. Was hoping SBS supported the device, but it didn't. I had to cast from a tablet.

After the trial period ended, I disabled my account because I couldn't justify the costly packages.

So it's not being used much at all. Just sitting there until the next World Cup comes along :)

It makes a lot of sense if some of those features align with what you currently do.

So basically, keep using my Roku

        • If Roku is treating you well, why not.

        Netflix install instructions here:

        • Thanks. Should be useful for others if their primary device will be the FNB.
I've already got netflix on my XB1 so I've got no need for it.

  • Wouldn't recommend this at all FYI. Buggy as all hell. Telstra TV2 on the other hand is quite a lot better (albeit at twice the price… and it requires a Telstra broadband connection).

Useless piece of shit, stupid locked down firmware, jittery no Netflix, no kodi waste of life.

Do not get this for free.

  • There are workarounds to get Netflix, Prime Video and Kodi all working on the FN box. With a bit of help from Whirlpool forums I have them installed and working. First 2 apps need to be sideloaded while there's a Kodi clone app that can be downloaded and installed directly from Google Play but looks and runs exactly like Kodi (though might not support all AV formats). Happy to share the sideloaded apps if anyone wants them. As for the FN box itself, it's alright and I use it quite regularly without much issues. The only annoying thing about it is the FN custom launcher which can't be replaced.

    • I appreciate your competence, patience and sharing, but I still think these are garbage and hate them.
