Still got my last one sitting aomewhere, didn’t even use… oh my..ozbargain

    • Don’t worry. I’m sure it will rain soon

    • you are doing it right, keep it up

  • One hand to close is very interesting.

    • Is a false statement. By "close" it just means the canopy collapses back in, but you still gotta use two hands to collapse the stem (unless you don't mind shoving it into a wall or the ground).

I used mine for the first time yesterday. This is a very slick umbrella and works very well. I love the fold at the touch of a button. It also covers two people easily with it's wide canopy!

It doesn't properly cover one person in my case.

      I'm 88KG so hardly a large person.

        Some may argue

      • I should probably clarify that two of us were sitting next to each other outside with the rain pouring down and not a drop of water hit us. I didn't test it with two people walking side by side but it should be OK.
I'm not sure how it doesn't cover you on your own?

'Melbourne Stock' what does that even mean? imported from China in bulk and kept in a garage in Melb?

    • +4

Same as pretty much any product these days. Very little is made in Melbourne

Melbourne stock means it will arrive next week when you order it, vs next year if it was Shenzhen stock

    • +1

in other words, faster shipping. They just want to sound more patriotic.

    Does it have B28?

  • +1

Is it even a smart umbrella. What’s the point if it doesn’t need charging.

  • -3

Does it also wrap it self?

  • Are these portable to take on overseas trips?

Was not impressed with mine. One of the struts broke after a few uses. Now it sticks out at an angle. Would not buy again.

  • I wouldn't buy this…

However I've been pretty happy with Shopro's service on a few items I've purchased.

  • I've got one - I wouldn't call it large or anything like that … covers one person if you angle the umbrella towards the rain. The automatic open / close is cool … but this thing ISN'T windproof - first time I used it it popped inside out, bending the metal struts. Managed to carefully bend them back so it still works, but now very weary whenever there's any wind :(

Are you weary of being wary?

      • Had baked beans for lunch. Now I'm weary of being windy.

    • Looking for a good one which can withstand a little wind as well.

    • How's the sun protection on these? Can you still feel the heat from the sun on you or does this completely refect it?

      • +1

I don't think these umbrellas refract it, no.

The most indestructible compact(ish) umbrella I've had is a Shelta; for roughly the same price from memory, and bigger canopy.
Bit like the Xiaomi pen this one; meh.

    • Also very happy with my shelta umbrella which also has an auto close mechanism.

      • Where did you buy from and how much are they?

  • +2

I've had one for a while now and really like it; have just ordered another one for others at home to grab on data they need it.

    Thanks OP.

  • Lost mine and picked up one of the $20 jobs off AmazonAU. Hard to tell without them side by side but I didn't notice much difference. Both do the job.
