      There are still cheap Android phones around of course, but the top tier vendors have worked out it's more worth their effort (profit margin in percentage terms) to make phones from higher end components.

      Google wants to be seen a top tier vendor. Hence it uses the best in class camera sensor to go with its own best in class software. That's how the Pixel has achieved its reputation as the best smartphone camera around.

      Using a term like "overpriced" implies you think such vendors are ripping you off. Perhaps. But that's what those components cost. Cutting edge technology has always and will always cost more.

    Jb hifi preorder lists pixel 3 128gb (not pink) 1199 instead of 1349. Not a bad discount $150

    Been waiting for this.. unsure on the 3 or 3XL.
    I'm still using the OG Pixel, and have always hesitated big phones. Also not sure how I feel about the knotch? I think I'm talking myself into the 3.

    I am glad however, that there are no tech differences between the 2 models, even battery size appears to be the same? Obviously only diff being screen and physical size.

    Now here's to hoping JB or another reseller offer a deal at launch for outright :-)

      Battery size is different -
      Pixel 3: 2915 mAh battery
      Pixel 3 XL: 3430 mAh battery

        I think I'm leaning towards the 3 and not the XL.. the knotch is killing me haha.

    Interesting that Google decides to have 2 different screen designs for the 3 and 3XL (with top notch like iPhones), would the $250/$500 Telstra port in offer still be valid when this comes out?

    Now that the pixel 3 is out, would you go back and buy an OG pixel for a family member that is not a huge techy, but likes having the options?
