Non stick pans, sure. But you can invest in stainless steel. The ikea 4-piece sensuell set is worth a look.
Maybe I haven’t figured out but I have had the worst results in stainless steel pans especially when frying that too with oil!
Try heating the pan on max heat and then turning your gas all the way down for a bit before frying? Also, don't add the oil until immediately before you add the food.
@josho9: I have tried that but the time taken to remove the burn mark around the pan is phenomenal
How do you manage that? I've had pans for 8 years that are still going strong.
normal price, and also a heads up, it's really small (the whole diameter is 24cm, not the usual bottom measure). saw it in store and decided not to buy
What a sizzling great deal! I hope it pans out ok.
I bought a OUMBÄRLIG pan from Ikea for around $25 about a year and it has been amazingly good and still going strong Far better than the >$100 brand name pans I was buying from department stores. I& this half as good as my pan, it will be a good buy.
Consider this.
If you want a cheap wok, how about staying w IKEA for $10.

This is 33cm so bigger than the frypan.
I know it says wok, but the middle and bottom still look a pan to me.
Bought a big wok at Woolies for $25 and some discounted fry pans at Coles for $3. This seems better than the Coles one on thickness and styling.
The best part of these pans are use them and chuck them in 6 months. Expensive pans that I have bought also seem to have the same fate!
