      …. and Slow.

These provide an excellent replacement for the NBN service that you are still waiting for. You could pack a heap of these into an envelop to send some where for $1. Alternative pidgeon should be able to at least five at a time.

@Windows7forever: Gotta convert from cassette tape first.

            • +4

@[Deactivated]: Speaking of cassette tapes, BASF brand cassette tapes were my favourite. BASF later renamed to EMTEC which are the brand of these micro SD cards :)

      • +1

Yep, great way to implement RFC 2549

  • Would this be alright for a dslr?

    • +1

Technically yes, but they have a slow write speed which can be an issue if take a burst of images or record 4k UHD video.

Some people also report problems using microSD cards in DSLRs that have a SD card slot. I personally have never had that problem, but that is based on one older Canon model.

    • if ur taking photos on dose, would u risk losing it on a cheap ad card like this!

      • +5

Well I'm not that good looking, so a part of me wants the photos to be lost lol

        • +2

lol this is the card for u

  • Dash cam?

    • +3

Samsung EVO or EVO Plus seem to be the most recommended as they handle the high temperatures better than others.

    • Nope.

    • You want a high endurance card for a dash cam.

  • +2

    I remember their cassette tapes.

    • +1

      Were they worth remembering?

      • +10

no, but the chicks I made the mix tapes for were!

      • Yes, the chrome ones I have at least, I hsvr some from years ago that still sound not far off digital recordings

  • Since no one has asked and all the answers seem to be no - Would this be good for a Samsung phone?

    • What will you be putting on there?
Be fine for photos but I wouldn't put apps on there.

      • Oh damn, it doesn't sound good at all then. It would've been apps and photos/videos.

        • Yeah YMMV but I'd look out for SanDisk Extreme/Ultra, Samsung, even the high performance Lexar ones.

It might be alright if you aren't working with 4K?

    • I wouldn't. Even if you use it for photos / the camera, you'll probably have a noticeable delay after snapping a pic, for it to be written to this media.

  • +1

Would it is ok for PMP, such as Walkman A45

    • It should work. But the A45 rebuilds/checks it’s database on each boot, which can take a minute or more on slow cards, particularly if you have a lot of music.

I’ve put in a faster card, just to make that DB process happen speedily. Saving a minute on boot each time is worth a few dollars extra to me. Particularly given the A45 isn’t cheap to begin with. As a bonus, the faster card makes it quicker to add music too.

As a general rule, everything is better with a faster card.

      • Yeah, thanks for advice.
Actually I use my A45 with a Toshiba Exeria U3 64GB, but i will need another card for backup. Anw, may go with Samsung Evo+series

Would it work for Nintendo Switch?

    • +1

      Work? Yes. Recommended? No.

  • I have an usb3 stick, its so slow. Starting copying, it writes at more than 20 MB/s for 10 seconds then it drops to zero, then it is up and down.

    • +2

Is it from the Emtec brand? Or is this just a story you wished to share with everyone?

      • +1

Of course it is Emtec brand, why would I refer a different brand here?

  • Oh (profanity), this is a Micro, that's even better value.

But damn, I thought it was a normal SD, I was gonna shove one in my Chromie for that price. Never had much luck using these adapters for Micro SDs unfortunately, but if I stumble into one of these while getting my Grill'd burger tomorrow, I'll grab it. Cheers OP!

  • Unicorn hunt!

  • Would this be alright just to use in my phone? Saving Spotify playlists is taking up all of my storage

    • Should be fine for that.

  • Did anyone in Melbourne manage to snag one? Passed by Carlton APO, they do not have it in stock.

    • No stock after going to two Aust post.. highpoint and footscray
