    Good first post!
If not in a hurry cheaper deals could be had
I bought it for sub 300 a little while back (1-2 months)

  • NC headphones galore this week!

Sony is giving this a serious run for its money

Poor Bose. They used to be synonymous with quality noise cancelling headphones. Now everyone has fallen in love with Sony's alternative.

They will have to invest in research and development to remain competitive with Sony.

    • Not just a run, they completely dominate them in almost every way. At the same $ you'd be insane to buy these.

    • Which Sony pair is competing? I'm interested

  • +9

    Get the Sony.

Not even 10 up votes. How time’s changed!

    Sony all the way

Same price every ebay '20% sale'..

Better off getting Sony ones for 349.95?

  • i know alot of people will get the 1000XM3 but these are still one of the best NC headphones around

    • +1

      Hear, hear!

      ;)

    • Which in your opinion have the best NC?

      • +3

Its really personal preference …. in terms of just pure noise cancelling Sony

but when i tried the 1000XM3 i got that weird pressure sensation on the back of my eyeballs when i turned the NC on.

also you can only pair one device at a time on the Sony's that might be a deal breaker for some

There are Pros and Cons for each …all im saying is that their Both really good

    • +2

But the Sonys are THE best.

  • +11

I've got both this and the SonyXM3, wife uses the Bose.

If you're only concerned about sound quality, the Sony wins.

If you're looking for all round comfort and connectivity ease, Bose wins hands down.

    NC is good on both.

If I had to choose which one to use to and from work, around the office, Bose wins.

If I'm sitting at home chilling, Sony wins.

    There you go.

    • Appreciate the write-up, but for those of us still torn between the Bose and the Sony… that doesn’t help at all 😄

      • +7

I’ve had both and the after wearing the Sonys for a five and a half hour flight yesterday, they’re comfortable but the Bose are slightly more so…for me anyway. My ears are fairly large and the Sony cans aren’t quite as deep as the Bose ones.

The connectivity is definitely easier with the Bose but changing between devices is hardly a chore on the Sonys.

Sound is definitely better, IMO, with the Sonys.

Build quality of the Sony ones is much better - the Bose are pretty cheap and nasty by comparison.

The Sony software is superb and the personalisation, including in pressurised cabins, is excellent.

The ability to change tracks, adjust volume, mute audio and noise cancelling, activate Google Assistant all by touching the right can or button is genius.

Even with the lesser comfort and connectivity, I’d take the Sonys every single time.

Thanks for your review. Good to see both bose and sony on sale and reviews like this maie these decision easier.

        • Also if you are on iOS the app is great to modify the sound EQ.

    • All highly rated reviews disagree with you, as to all my collegues who between 5 of us have 2 Bose, 3 Sennheiser and 1 Sony. The Sony's, as the reviews say are just better than all the rest now with the XM3. The bose are second if you want NC and last if you want sound quality. The Sony has the best of everything except using as a cabled headset which only the Senn offers.

  • Been cheaper several times

  • From those that have either of the above, which one would have a better mic for office phone setups?

I have read that sound via Web RTC calls it's quite poor with both Sony and Bose.

  • "My first post and a ripper it is."

    love the modesty
