  • What's a touch car?

    • the newer version of "touch bar"

      touch bar Bruh
Touch Car is not due until 2025

      • I’ll start stocking screen protectors for them.

It is Apple's apology for not having a touchscreen in 2018.

And no USB-A ports - welcome to dongle hell.
Its almost enough to drive a man to Windows.

It is Apple's apology for not having a touchscreen in 2018.

Not needed with the huge and amazing touchpad. Also, touchscreens aren't ergonomical. Apple don't do thing 'just because'.

And no USB-A ports - welcome to dongle hell.

        No, welcome to the future.

One of the beautiful things about the user experience of the Macbook — You can just lift the Macbook lid up without holding the body down.
I suspect you'll need to make hinges stiffer to make the screen stay in place when you touch, which may affect user experience.

Apple is a lot about user experience, but unfortunately too 'far ahead' in the future.

            @jameslamyk:

unfortunately too far ahead in the future

Which leads to a poor user experience with the absolutely necessary use of dongle.

            • @Raynes: Yeah, I'd pay extra for having magsafe, usbs and f-keys back. Unfortunately, it's inconvenient and full-on gimmicky, because of the ambiguous "ahead of future". I hope my 2013 MBP never dies.

Well, at least that logo on the lid is not glowing anymore!

      • I don't care about touch screen, but touchbar is a completely useless expensive piece of crap, couldn't regret more…

  • Dammit, looking for deals on the 13 inch

I love how the description in the listing if you scroll down says $3,499 but then it's been jacked to $3,659 on the listing price.

    • Yep, other stuff is jacked as well. Very disappointing but I guess it’s the norm now.

  • Geez that's still a lot of money for a notebook. :(

    • +4

My 2011mbp still rocks in daily task and it was 2100$ I thought it was expensive but look at all my room mate with windows machines that has been replaced few times I would say it is worth it .

      But
      But
But that is old apple . The new apple is just meh

      • Why is the new Mac just meh? I still have the first gen retina screen mbp which is in great condition and I love it more than my xps 13

        • Because nothing is really replaceable in your retina v the 2011 (where everything is replaceable), unless you stump up => the value of the machine for Apple repairs.

          • +1

@pakkapie: And no magsafe, and a bunch of dongles (because nobody and no company own usb-c drives or monitors), and not quite useful touch bar.

  • Hmmmm, I think umart sells this for about this price anyway https://www.umart.com.au/Apple-MR962X-A-15-inch-MacBook-Pro-…

    • +1

      Same price?

      its 3,130, its $203 more
