This is officially the new Eneloop

    • The king is dead, long live the king!

  • Damn, I got QC35 on Qantas store using my points yesterday thinking this Sony one probably wouldn't go on sale for a while given how new it still is. Would have preferred the Sony one over QC35

    • Yeah, I moved to the QC-35 after my Sony's 1000x hinges broke. Have regretted it ever since. Just doesn't compare :( Consdiring getting these nwo and selling my QC35s now.

      • only advantage of the QC35's for me is it's smaller and better microphone, otherwise sony's top imo

    • +1

ask them to swap - tell them how much you love quantas

      • +2

        quantas

Might help to spell it right though ;)

  • Damn. Once the Qantas store selling them at these low prices, you know prices have fallen

  • TGG? You required commercial membership, not available to everyone.
Wonder how long before these reach $300?

  • is it TRS able?

    • +1

Should be. I have purchased from qantas store with points plus cash and have claimed TRS

      • +1

Yes it is - I TRS'd the previous Qantas Store purchase using the order confirmation email which doubles as your tax invoice (has the ABN). I too paid with 2k points as well.

    • Yup, claimed TRS on this headphones 3 days back. Purchased them at the end of Sept when it was $418 + 2000 points. Grrrrrr………

  • Noo.. the BDAYOCT18 code expired yesterday :-(

    • this code didn't work when I bought last week.

      • +4

        Was your birthday in Oct?

    • Edit: apparently I'm wrong

  • Sony really trying to knock out bose. I like it.

  • Is this the cheapest it's been so far? I'm looking at getting it for $307.28 as I've got like 8000 points I don't need. Would this be a good buy or should I do the 2000 points instead? Is the dollar value good compared to flight upgrades?

    • +1

8000 points well spent I reckon. I bought XM3 with full 61000 points as Qantas points are easy to rack up these days.

  • +1

Thanks OP. Got one for myself. Happy days:)

  • Does anyone know how long it takes to deliver from Qantas store to Sydney?

    • +1

A couple of days. It usually comes from JB HI fi.

      • thanks

      • For real? From JBhifi, does that mean Toll are involved. Sadface.

    • +1

Purchased this today. Delivery address is Sydney City.

      Item status: Processing
      Estimated delivery 09 November 2018

      • thanks

      • Did you receive yours? or tracking?

        • +1

I placed my order 1Nov, this morning tracking shows on bard for delivery today, but I haven't received it yet, and no updates on tracking too.

        • +1

Not yet, I do have tracking and estimate delivery from shippit said 2 business days so hopefully it will arrive tomorrow.

        • +1

          received today

  • My Bose have pretty bad lag when playing games.
Do the Sonys also have this problem?

    • +3

The sound lag is because of bluetooth. You'd have to hook them up with an audio cable to remove the delay.

      • +1

It also depends on the headphones, phone and chipsets involved too. I get almost no perceptible lag on some bluetooth headphones, but noticeably more on others.

    • +2

If you have a device with AptX.LL, it should reduce the lag somewhat. But if you're using good ol' SBC/AAC, there will be perceivable lag. Good old fashion 3.5mm will also remove the problem.

      • Does both the headphones and the device need AptX.LL to reduce lag or just the headphones?

Woo - Managed to stack it with the Qantas Birthday Voucher: BDAYNOV18
    For a total of $304 + 2000 points. WooHoo!

    https://imgur.com/jIbfujj

Sold my old pair of Bose QC35 for $250, so the upgrade was a no brainer.

    • seems like a generic code? maybe everyone can use

    • Birthday Voucher: BDAYNOV18 - is this targeted?

I just tried on an account with bday today and it didn't work.

"You are not eligible for this promotion"

      .

      • Yeah I guess it must be targetted :(

    • My birthday was in Oct, so I missed out by one day :-(

    • Imagine all those people with bdays in December and will hold out for a hope of a code while these baby's sell out.

    • It’s my bday this month too. I got an email from qantas but only qantas wine and double points dining offer.
Can you explain how you qualify for this voucher?

  • +1

Thanks OP. Finally pulled the trigger on a pair of these cans!

  • +1

That is awesome - thank you just pulled the trigger as well. I had a 6,000 points and I transferred these to my wife who had 11,000 so I got these for $254 delivered…

  • -2

    2000 points = 2000 bucks spend!

    • Some of us are earning bonus points.

  • What does 61k of QFF points equate to in dollar terms?

    • -3

      $610

    • +1

Roughly $330 worth of JBHiFI gift cards

    • +1

Going rate is 1.25 cents per point, so 61,000 QF points is roughly $750+.

      • Wow. Whoever is paying that, get in touch with me!

        • Check out the OzB classifieds. Dudes have been getting as much as 1.3cpp. It's a sellers' market. I sell all my points on here. Have raked in over 15k this year.

  • For those who already have the headphones, there are some decent Weber BBQ's to blow your points on that are also on sale (also happens to be OZB favourite BBQ!):

  • This or QC35 ii?

    • This is better than the QC35II in every day except for multi-point connections.

  • +1

Thanks OP. Had about 6K points lying around doing nothing so got the headphones down to $315ish. Going O/S in a month too so will claim TRS. Pretty much on par with TGG deal so appreciate the post.

    • +1

      happy to have helped!

  • I have over 10k points but ended up bringing down the price to $300 so I can claim TRS. Awesome deal! Extra bonus I got them in Balck which is hard to get right now.

  • Copped. Bit concerning that Qantas Store order confirmation email does not contain reference to neither brand name nor model name. Hoping they don't send XM2 instead.

    • The site mentions flagship.

    • Also, the confirmation email contains a link to the product page and the product URL has the model number (1000XM3) in it.

  • I got a broke in and my Sony 1000x got stolen last Saturday night. Got this one at $316 with 6k points today, thanks OP!

  • Sony has so many damn model numbers for this product. So is "WH-1000XM3B" the same as all the other WH-1000XM3 models?

    • Yes. The B is just for black. S for silver

  • did the price just jack up?
