Seems like HERO7 Silver is worse than HERO5 Black.
The black is the only one with a removable battery and also the only one compatible with the super suit that is pretty much required for scuba diving.

The super suit is useless. It takes away any sort of camera control through the touchscreen
You basically only need the super suit for diving though given the camera is 12 metres water resistant without it. Touchscreens don’t generally work underwater anyway. So I wouldn’t say the super suit is useless given it’s intended purpose.

the black one is the only one with the new "gymbal like" stabilization.
Potentially better off with the Hero 5 Black over the 7 Silver/White - so far looks like it has more shooting modes, compatible with audio inputs and has a removable battery + miniHDMI output
Ordered the Hero 7 Black on October 12 from TGG - still have not received.
Did not receive any communication weeks later and had to submit a query.
The only response I received since then (10 days ago) was that a local store was supposed to give me an ETA. Still nothing.Funny since TGG eBay says it's in stock everywhere for C&C :/

Edit: my account was set to USA…I have a Hero 5 Black. Would it be better off buying this than buying a gymbal and keeping my Hero 5?
I wonder how much I could get for my Hero 5 as it's already 2 generations old.The Gopro gimbal is about $500 and these things are about to the superseded due to Hero 6 and 7 GP chipset doing the VC. You'll end up with a superseded Hero 5 and a superseded $500 useless gimbal going down that route. Might as well just keep the Hero 5 and stick with the stablization on that then update again so soon.
The way this company is going there'll be a Hero 8 out soon with GP2 chip.

When you want a GoPro but you really have nothing to record.
Is it worth getting one the White one to be used as a dash cam for cycling? Mainly want one to record bike rides and other sports but at the same time make sure I have video footage in case of any accidents

Ahh, that's a really short battery life. Are there any action cam that have a decent battery life (4+ hours)?
Try a powerbank. I get over 3 days with mine for time lapses.
How does the HERO7 White compare to the Hero 3+ Black? Is it worth the upgrade for underwater video scuba/snorkelling (thats all I use gopro for)
