Had a refund from Uber for an incorrect cancellation fee while I was in Detroit, US last year. The US$10 was in my account as credit and I could not use it in Australia.However, when I was in Hawaii a few months ago that credit got automatically applied to my first trip.

It works like a regular gift card. If your Hoyts transaction is less than the gift card value, the balance stays on the card until it gets used up or expires.

Correct. Say you have a $10 left on the gift card, you buy a $20 ticket, you use the $10 from the gift card and then pay the remaining $10 via another method.

It looks like the Powerhouse Museum uses their own ticket booking system. Also the deal is for Ticketmaster gift cards, not Ticketek.

Not 100% sure but since the gift card value turns into credit in your Uber Account, I believe there is no expiry.
At the very least, being in NSW, your card (or any gift card) would be valid for at least 3 years.

Currently there is an offer that can be activated where you get 2400 points for $60 spend. Assuming I buy a gift card + spend an additional $10 (or more), will I get 4400 points?
Gift Cards are always excluded from earning normal Flybuys Points as well as any non-gift card related offers.
So how long does it take for the bonus pts to show because I just got one and there's nothing in my account yet.

Not like Woolies/Big W, Coles gift card actually can only be used instore, cannot use at coles online, coles petrol station or kmart. You can get kmart gift card but I'm not sure if there's a special card for petrol.
