    What’s the normal price?

  • +1

    That is the normal price…

    • +5

This is a bargains website. We come here for bargains.

  • So no bargain?

    • haha well if you don't consider that a bargain, then it's not for you

      • No discount whatsoever for your fellow OzBargain members?

    • +4

Yep, obviously not been to a physio lately. Less than a third of what I pay someone!!!
      It is a bargain!

  • Health fund rebates? What areas for home visits? Or is it only the suburbs listed?

    • +3

Yes, it's physiotherapy provided by a registered practitioner, so health funds rebates apply. Patients often find that their health insurance covers the whole cost of treatment for in-room consults.
Home visits can be arranged via text or call, but are subject to my availability and convenience. If interested, you're more than welcome to get in contact :)

  • how long is a consult that costs 27/57?

    • +5

      30 minute in room consult
      40 minute home visit

*please don't pull out a stopwatch during a session because that'd be weird.

      • I once had a women book a double appointment with me and at the start of the appointment she pulled out an egg timer and told me she wanted to make sure that she got her monies' worth.
One of the stranger consults I have had. (plus I had a student with me who was on their 1st day of placement - made for a great debrief afterwards)

was not asking to hold you to the minute - just wanted to clarify if these were consults of reasonable length.

I really hope this model works for you - it's a huge need in the community.

        • Oh god. Hopefully I won't run into the same situation! And yes I totally agree, there's definitely a need for something like this in healthcare - hence why I'm doing something about it.
If there are practitioners that replicate the low cost model then it'd be a win for the community :)

    • how long is a consult that goes 24/7?

      • +1

Please don't pull out a stopwatch during a session because a calendar will suffice.

  • +1

Nice touch with the video link at the end :)

Ok I have some feedback. You’re website is somewhat awkward when viewed in mobile ;)

    • hahahah wow thanks for that. i'll get that page optimised for mobile

    • Lol! Not cool but pretty funny

    • reminds me of SNL Celebrity Jeopardy

  • So not a bargain?! Usual price? Is OzB now just an advertising platform without bargains? :(

    • -4

      Afraid so.

      That and peddling Xiaomi junk

    • +1

If considerably cheaper than all the competition then surely it's a bargain. (But yeah a strict reading of the posting guidelines says it ain't).

  • Do you offer neck breaking service?
would open a whole new world of clientele

  • If my Neck is in East Melbourne and my Shoulders are in Bentleigh, is it any wonder my headaches come and go? lol

    • +3

      Are you coming or going?

  • +1

    Need this in Sydney

  • Mate, just don't understand how you can turn a profit at these prices?

    • I suspect that this is for the initial consultation. Then you enter into a treatment plan. By guaranteeing a longer term income (even with lower margin), you can turn a profit over the lifetime of a patient.

A lot of physiotherapy is getting a patient to do their exercises. So they may be able to check this via video conference check ins etc.

But it would be good to get the OP to clarify.

      • +5

This service will rely on volume. Initial and subsequent consults are the same price. I'm unfavourable to the idea of treatment plans and prefer to continue treatment as long as there's objective improvement until cessation of the problem. If improvement halts then I will always recommend patients to an ENT, neuro or ortho.

The prices are low so that people can afford it - if I'm able to help a lot of people, then I'll make a reasonably average living. If the idea of an affordable physiotherapy service doesn't spread then there won't be any profit and the business will fail.

The patients I've treated with manual therapy for neck issues and headaches often get better quickly, so I'm hoping that these patients will refer my service to others they know who have issues.

        • +1

Hope you've done the numbers as even an average living might be hard at those rates. Don't sell yourself too short mate!

    bargain

    (noun)
A thing bought or offered for sale much more cheaply than is usual or expected.
"Will the associated OP be posting a bargain or are they just advertising?"

    • +4

It is much cheaper than is usual or expected.

    • +1

      That is the normal price…

      • That's not what I'm replying to though - the person above me made a statement that was incorrect. It is cheaper than usual or expected compared to other physiotherapists.

        • Ok let's post more things that are the normal price then.

          • +3

@iforgotmysocks: So if a product costs $10 at one shop and the identical product costs $20 at another shop you wouldn't consider one to be cheaper than the other?

  • +1

I live in Bentleigh, winning! Instant upvote, don't care if it's the normal price, I didn't know and I've tried to research in the area, I found a local Myotherapist, Shiatsu/Remedial Massage and an Osteo, but didn't look for a Physio, but at this price, why not.

  • +2

Great price OP, it will enable people to get physio treatment who would not be able to afford it otherwise.
Don’t understand why some people are saying this isn’t a bargain? If the OP had caimed that the usual price is $80 and he is offering it for $40 then that would be considered a bargain.
Surely its the actual price that’s important not some bull**it % off?

  • I'm pretty happy so far. Nice guy who genuinely wants to help me with my neck and back issues. Just need to do all the exercises more often. After rebates I pay $10 so can't complain compared to my other local physios who charge a heap more. I'll be happier when my issues are gone though.
