  • Decent price! :)

GPS's, like big screen TV's, have already hit critical mass (the time when sales peak). Most people who were ever going to buy one have bought one. Expect prices to drop.

Now you can have two… one for the kids to watch where they're going :P

      Wtf?

    • that sounds creepy, but i like!

How is that creppy? Teaching kids how to read maps and learning how to navigate is a great skill

Now i understand, i thought he was inplying it has a tracking feature. Im so smart

You spend a lot more on those ones. Women like to put them in their husbands cars.

Dicksmith, if you bring back the $150 5" tomtom or equivalent, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. $99 for a 3.5" entry level GPS no thanks.

    • I still have the rain check for it :)

    • i'd do the same, sucks to have missed out when they did the $150 deal =/

  • Officeworks is selling the same model for 1 dollar less.

free shipping with dick smith..guaranteed delivery
whilst to save on the $10 shipping you would have to go to OW and find that it is not even in stock
( I guess you could call but I am just trying to make a point that petrol/OW delivery charges make this DS the better bargain)

      • I agree this is a good deal too. Just wanted to point out that OW was offering the same thing.

        • yeah definitely better if you work near an OW

+1 for Dicksmith being active in the forums and posting a deal themselves. Its good to see they are out there embracing online sales. Free shipping or in store pick up. Win!

Wish the newer GPS had headphone jacks. My old Naveman gets stuck to my handlebars with velcro and I just use a set of in ears. It is way outdated now though…

  • Looking for a big 5" GPS for my parent who has trouble reading a 3.5 inch screen. Got any deals for those?

    • They might still have some at Aldi

      • Updating maps on the Aldi maps is difficult

        • +1

I wouldn't bother updating maps, just buy a new gps every 2-3 years.. it will most likely work out cheaper then paying for map upgrades, unless you are torrenting them.

        • Doen't some manufacturers provide "free lifetime map updates"?

  • Probably a silly question - but how do these things stay charged?

  • yep just put em into your smokes jack. when you wanna light a ciggie just unplug it for a bit and it will run off the battery.

  • These GPSs are becoming like inkjet printers. Device is getting cheaper, but it costs more to upgrade maps down the track to the point that buying a newer GPS with newer maps is cheaper.

  • One more question. Does it come with something to mount it to your front windshield?

    • Usually they come with one. I have old TomTom One, which came with a windshield mount.

You can also buy various types of windshield mounts from eBay under $10 delivered.

      EDIT:
Just noticed that images in DickSmith website show a windshield mount.
