Here is a FREE ticket Promo Code to this year’s Cake Bake & Sweets Show Melbourne, it was fantastic in Sydney with lot of shopping options and sugar, if you are in to baking and cooking definitely the place to be. For sweet lovers there’s no better place, all sweets you can think about in one place.

This is a code for industry partners and I guess only few hundreds available. It’s valid for Friday, but I think they will let you in during the weekend as well.

  • Will there be samples?! :D

Went to the one in Sydney and paid $20 via Groupon. For that price, I expected some showbags and samples to take home.
      Nothing.
The Baby Expos I've been to this year were free AND gave plenty of stuff for free.

Anyway, the stuff at the Cake expo can all be found cheaper online or at Woolies …but since you don't need to pay for entry, definitely go for the free food! Lots of it.

      • Oh thanks! So it's just lots of free food! Sounds similar to Good Food and Wine but probably for sweets

        • When I went in the past there wasn't a lot of free food, mainly just cake baking equipment etc. However, that was a few years ago.

        • Ironically, the best thing I tasted there were some mushroom, spinach and cheese French crepes. Haha
There was also a Miguel stall with bacon chips and stuff.

But yeah, lots of sweets including fudge, yoghurt, cookie dough-type cake, dried fruit, coffee, juice…

  • Last time I went to one of these you just had to queue up for 45 minutes for a small morsel, better to pay and to a real restaurant

Honestly not worth going even for free. Not much in Sydney one.

    • Worse than the good food show?

      • I enjoyed the good food in Melbourne this year. Lots of freebies and not really any lines

For anyone wanting to know. I went on Sunday - Sydney Event (2.70$ public transport all day). Samples were scarce really. Unless you are a lover of sweets and wouldn't mind paying for things. Then I wouldn't justify going really. I was out within the hour/hour.5. Don't know how this ticket was priced at 30$.

I'd say 20-30% of the stands were offering small samples.

For free? maybe if you were going out for a day in the city and not only this event, then ye go. If you're going solely for this event and not going to pay for anything else then don't waste your time.

One highlight was we got to taste Ruby Chocolate. Unusual taste.

    • Did you get to taste the Ruby chocolate for free or did you pay?

It was from a chocolate school promoting their courses as a Chocolatier.

They were giving it for free small rounded chocolate. At the end of their chocolate making demo they put their more samples of ruby chocolate.

It was ruby chocolate based with a whole almond/macadamia/and i think 1-2 more nuts. It actually tasted quiet pleasant mixed with the other elements but on its own ruby chocolate is for people with an acquired taste.

The school was called Le Cordon Bleu

        • Thank you! Definitely have to try it out cheers :)

  • Went to Melbourne event today. Lots of opportunities to sample from stores. Fudge, cupcakes, Yoghurt ice-cream, Marshmallows, gingerbread etc. There are free workshops which have places for approx 25 people but they are first come first serve so be early if interested. The healthy eating stage has free brownies. There are free cakes from the Greens stand. There's also a very impressive display of cakes that have been entered into competition. They are mainly Christmas themed. I stayed about 2 hours. The crowds were very manageable but will likely be a different story on the weekend. The convention centre is also holding a tattoo expo so you'll get to see some very heavily tattooed folks around the foyer.

  • Went today. The cake display was very impressive. There were some interesting tasters. The Greens cakes were actually pretty good, quite cheap and easy to make. You can buy them in Coles/Woolworths. The pies, at Wonder Pies, were $5 and delicious. There are a number of stages doing demonstrations. Worth the visit for the freebie.
