Is it a isolated incident? Haven't flown with Malindo before, but reviews on other sites seem to be OK.
Once is an accident. Twice is a coincidence, and Three times is a pattern.

There are always people who quote accidents or maintenance issues saying DO NOT FLY WITH THEM, but if you research closely, almost every airline has had such a incident in the past.

If you take this list from wikipedia, there won't be many airlines you will be flying with. LOL!

Interesting that the article you posted it also says the following:
"Malindo Air, which was set up by Indonesia’s Lion Air, is considered a safe airline despite several incidents over the past five years."
Therefore your "article" contradicts your statement of staying away.

      • Boeing introduce 737 Max and pilots require training… Garuda (and other airlines) fly pilots to Singapore to train in a custom 737-Max flight simulator. Lion Group pilots do a 3h web browser based online course…

      • I’m most certainly privy to a lot more inside info than the general public, as a pilot, that flies domestically.

        It’s a circus folks don’t go near.

Agree every plane has had issues examples include Qantas with the Qantas Flight 32, Virgin Flight 465 has faced issues and Singapore with their SQ368.

Also if a carrier isn't safe wouldn't they fail their IOSA? Didn't they just retain their IOSA Registration this year as well?

  • I flew with these jokers twice in business class and both times they lost my luggage. Avoid if possible.

Unless you have a corresponding deal to KL to start with, this is not a deal as this is OzBargain not MalayBargain.
