  • Can we buy ebay gc with this?

    • +5

      in store, yes/no/maybe… its complicated

      • No hard feeling but time wasted on both of us :p
Lets wait for a true ozbargainer

        • +5

          Yes you can

Make sure you flash your credit card in front of the self checkout attendant. When they turn around, pull out your gift card

          • +1

@easternculture: I guess pushing the attendant away then check out with your own gc and grab some extra cash is better way.

          • +4

@easternculture: attendants don't actually care which card you use, sometimes it just simply doesn't allow buying a gift card with another gift card, it literally pops up on the checkout and says "this can't be purchased with this payment type"

            • -2

@freoleo: Some will refuse to approve the gift card transaction if they see your Coles gift card

              • @easternculture: That isn't how it works, we don't get the choice to approve a gift card transaction, some work and some don't work, it depends on the system.

The system is simply in place to make sure that the Gift card has scanned through properly for the customer as well as to put an issue date on the giftcard.

              • @easternculture: Just happened to me today, they even said that the POS wont even allow it even if they tried.

          • +3

@easternculture: How do you know the attendant is going to turn around not just faking it?

            • -1

@nfr: As long as they approve it on the POS, then who cares lol

            • @nfr: My expericence
Until recently i never could use egift to buy giftcards at self serve.
              But recently it works everywhere

Today the self serve check out girl insisted you werrent allowed to and it didnt work.

So i asked the other staff to swipe her card. She did and it worked. The othee staff virtually ran over to try and stop me entering it.

I scanned my next card and she was like, youre not allowed to and it wont work.

              Yes it will work.
              Well i wont allow it

So i left and went down the road

              • @Samsungnote10: Yeah I don't get why the staff get so worked up about it. I doubt they get in trouble or can even trace it back to them but they carry on like they'll lose their jobs if they let it go through.

          • +4

@easternculture: Woolies doesn’t allow buying GC with eGift card now

        • +1

well I have had great success buying gift cards with coles egift cards in past (brought $50 uber gift card just today), but I have seen others facing hard time being successful at it. I suppose it really depends on which store you try this at.

          • +1

@Cisco123: I think its which cards that are the issue. I tried to get a visa from woolies yesterday, but was unsuccessful. I think they stop the giftcards you'd be able to cycle (use Discount coles to get visa, then visa to get discount coles). As with you, I plan you purchase a $50 card with vouchers as part of this weeks bonus points (will get netflix instead of uber though).

        • +1

Yes, you can. I did it today.

      • It's not you, it's Coles.

    • The general rule has been that you could not get gift cards that could be used to purchase other coles gift cards (no prepaid visa etc). Without having tried eBay myself, I'd guess not.

As with the other comment I'd say wait for another comment, but just for anyone else, please comment you last time it was successful.

  • these in-store only egift cards, or they also work for online coles shopping?

    • +1

It has an online number so I assume can be used online, though personally I have only used in store.

    • +7

I don't think Coles allows online payments through gift cards.

    • +3

Coles gift card can only be used in store, not online, not petrel.

      • I could have sworn I'd used Coles gift cards online?

How do I sign up to Suncorp benefits?

    • +1

I took the green slip recently with Aimee and I got the access

      • I have AAMI but could not access Suncorp benefits. Every time I click after logging in it says "We're experiencing some technical difficultiesSomething is broken and it's our fault—our team is aware of the problem and we're working as fast as we can to repair it.Please check back soon…"

        • I created an account using the Suncorp app -They had a stupid 'you have to wait 24 hours before purchasing a reward' thing - Took closer to 48 hours…

          • +1

@BadHorse: From the APP, I got the same error. Going on for weeks if not months.

        • Try login on the AAMI website, then at the top menu click "My Profile" -> "Suncorp Benefits"

          • @Dacs: Exactly where I got the error message first time :(

            • @FatTofu: It happened to me then I reset my phone ( due to different issue) and now it's works.

    • Added a url in description. Try creating an account through it.

  • Can you use these cards multiple times or is it like the Woolies one where it's one time use?

    • Multiple

    • You get a bar code and pin number. I usually saveine on the Stocard app.

    • Normal Woolies is multi use. The occasional special offers that are more heavily discounted are not, which is annoying.

  • Can I get this if I have an insurance policy with Suncorp? If not, what product is required to qualify for Suncorp rewards?

    • I have car insurance with them, and can buy Coles gift cards.

      • Thanks. I've had my policy almost 12 months and never knew such a rewards scheme existed. Will check it out tonight and hopefully register.

    • I get Suncorp benefits through AAMI insurance

      • Thanks. Have that too.

        • I am with AAMI too, opened the Suncorp account but asks for bank account and only option is to have is a Suncorp account

        • How did you access that?

Log into AAMI and click "Suncorp benefits" under "My profile"?

Did not work for me :(

    • They have fee free bank account that qualifies, even with never having put funds in.

      • +2

Or even activating it via getting your id approved ;)

        • The app says "technical issues" when I try to add my new bank account :-(

          • @gadgetguy: I just tried logging in again and it worked.

            • @CVonC: Tried many times last night - no go. However it's working this morning.

However I think my 24 hours waiting period only starts now.

        • Oh, nice, you did better than me then :D Don't need any of their services and already have too many bank accounts but the discounts come in handy.

      • I have the fee free bank account but how do I access the benefits if on the registration form it requires an insurance policy number?

  • Do you need to be a member or something?

  • Lumo offering the same?

  • What cards does suncorp accept, and any fees?

    • +1

No Amex when I tried a few months ago. No fees for Visa

      • Can confirm no surcharge for Amex, which makes it superior to say, Lumo Ameego.

        • Can you pay with Amex? When I tried a few months ago, it wasn't even an option for me

    • They only accept Mastercard and Visa now.

  • there's a weekly limit of $1000

    • Yeah, annoying. That was only introduced recently.

  • I never had issue buying jb hifi, itunes and other GCs using coles E-GC. They will give you pain if you try to buy Coles Myer GC using Coles E-GC….. Not sure why? but as you know Coles Myer GC can be used for multiple stores while Coles E-GC can only be used for Coles grocerry only.

    • Is there a card that we can use across Coles, Target and Kmart?

      • I think you buy each card separately.

      • +1

Coles Myer GC, that is the ultimate one card to use across different shops.

  • Never knew about Suncorp benefits through AAMI! Thanks. Been with AAMI for a few years

  • To access suncorp benefits…. What is the process?
    Just a Suncorp account number???

  • Does a NSW GIO CTP make you eligible?

  • Id be interested to see if anyone has any issues with the app

Have Suncorp insurance but cant get into any deals due to "technical errors"

Rang Loyalty Corp but Rang out
    YMMV

    • try online link

    • +1

Hi there. Same problem I have had for weeks. I finally persevered, got passed around departments and finally my case has been logged with the Suncorp Benefits app development team. I've been told 5-10 days to fix. That was 5 days ago. Would be great if it is fixed after 10am tomorrow!

  • One cannot create an account without having an insurance policy with them.

  • i've registered in the app, when i go to purchase it shows a notice that it takes 24hrs for new registrations to buy egift cards, hopefully it happens sooner

    • I know this isn't what you want to hear but I registered Sunday night and it took until Wednesday morning to be able to buy anything - I emailed Suncorp Monday night and never received a response(so far)

      • Dang, hopefully i dont miss the boat then

Am I right, Coles discounted giftcards can never be used at colesonline, only instore?

    • +1

      Yes, you are right

  • Can anyone offer more than 7% if they buy with their amex card? Feel free to PM me

    • +2

if they buy with their amex card

Amex is not accepted on Suncorp benefits.
The reason why Woolies eGift can be offered at 7% discount rate or higher is because Woolworths have their own eGift portal.

Coles do not have their own portal
In fact, most places that sell Coles eGift at 5%, usually have a 1% surcharge on ALL card transactions.

Coles is hard enough to obtain freely at 5%, let alone any higher.

7% for this deal is extremely high for Coles.

  • I know they don’t accept AMEX but can someone please let me know if I buy Wish gift cards using AMEX from elsewhere will these qualify for my $1500 will this GC purchase qualify for 100k bonus on my card that I signed up recently?

    • +1

      Yes

    • +2

Yes. You can buy Wish gift cards from CashRewards or Shopback at 5% off and pay with Amex without surcharge. This will qualify for your spend to get sign up bonus points.

  • Help! I downloaded the app and opened 2 accounts - Everyday Basics and Growth Saver - but I cannot find anywhere in the app a "rewards" section :(

There's no money in the accounts, do I have to transfer funds to access rewards???

    • +2

You need the "Suncorp App" not "Suncorp Bank" app. It's pretty poorly named. Use the link in the original post.

    • +1

Which app have you downloaded? There are 2 apps. 'Suncorp bank' and 'Suncorp app' . You have to download the second one. There is rewards button in app menu.

      • Doh. Yes I downloaded the wrong app, all good now besides having to wait 24hrs to be able to access rewards.

        Thank you both!!

  • Do you get bonus super market points with platinum edge through this?

Edit:looks like they don't accept amex.

  • is nsw AEST Time?
