Banggood app only.

I have had one of these torches for over a year and it's an absolute ripper!! Super bright, incredibly well engineered and exceptionally well made.

Recently was $AU45.68 delivered. It's now $AU36.36 delivered plus comes with 2x Samsung 30Q 3000mAh 18650 batteries worth ~$16.

For the uninitiated to this technology - while this torch is compact, make no mistake, at full brightness it will cast a beam so bright that most onlookers would assume it was coming from either a massive (older tech) torch or car headlights.

Yes there are more powerful models available, but not for this size/weight (or price).

It is a spotlight with very long throw and a light but wide flood, and is very comfortable in your hand for extended periods. Takes one 18650 battery so it's small and light.

I recommend choosing the 3A tint colour as it IMO gives the most pleasant, natural colour, neither cool nor warm.

Those that don't yet have a charger to charge 18650 batteries will need one. I use the Nitecore D2 and recommend it, however there are many significantly cheaper (and more expensive) 18650 chargers out there. D2 costs $26 delivered from AU eBay sellers.

  • One of the photos in the description says 1300m throw. That’s not true is it?

    • Not 1300 metres, 1300 lumens. It has been independently measured by torch nerds to indeed output 1300 lumens.
      See this review.

      • +1

Thanks OP! Key part of the review:

Basically, this is a Convoy C8 flashlight host, using a FET driver for 60% more output and intensity than the Convoy C8.

        • Good highlight dust. I have the Convoy C8 too, and while it is a great unit, it doesn't have the same intense hotspot and the build quality doesn't quite match up to the Astrolux.

At this price, and with two Samsung 30Q batteries, it's a very generous offer. We can only speculate how long it will last.

      • The photos does indeed say 1300meters.. oh well. I assumed it was wrong but I was being hopeful.

The description in the app also states something about 2 types of reflector can be chosen.

        NOTE:
When ordering please choose the right led mode and reflector that you want.

        EDIT: I’ve caught up now.

        • When ordering please choose the right led mode and reflector that you want.

How? I can only see an option to choose tint.

        • Oh I see that image now. Says "Beam rang: 1300 METERS", but also says below that "Beam Rang: 639 METERS".

I can't see anything about reflector choice. I think it only comes with a smooth reflector. Mine is super shiny.

  • Are the Samsung 30Q’s legit? Is Banggood reputable for 18650’s? Legit question, and if so, this is an awesome deal

    • YES. Their reviews for 30Q regularly state that the batteries are genuine and tested for slightly over 3000mAh capacity and high current. And YES it's an excellent deal!

  • Chargers.
    Golisi S2 and S4 can charge 18650s @ 500mA x 2, 1A x 2 or the S4 can do 2A x 1.
AC and DC input as per the Nitecore D2/D4. Usually slightly cheaper too.

  • I'm assuming cashrewards won't track app purchases?

    • Tracks the app fine.

  • $4.97 shipping on the 'free gift' of the batteries + taxes and I see A$40.63 as the price ?

    • You probably paid for insurance? Need to untuck. Mine was au36.84 in total.

      • How did you get $AU36.84? Delivered to Australia?

      • Fair enough, un-ticked insurance and I see $40.01

    • Is that with or without shipping insurance? Without insurance I'm still seeing $AU38.22.

      • It showed me A$36.22 without insurance and then when I paid they charged A$36.23 to my paypal.

I wonder how much they'd be making if they're charging everyone that extra cent.

        • 🤣 Rounding error? 😀

          • @raymosaurus: The rounding error would be them showing A$36.22 instead of A$36.21 on the checkout page.

            (27.95 + 4.97) * 1.1 = 36.212

Even in my order history it adds up to A$36.22

Pretty sure they just ripped me off. haha

            • @HomeAlone: Probably not worth suing them on your own. Class action perhaps?

  • The battery needs to be charged externally?

    • Yes. Just like most torches that use 18650 batteries, this one does not have a charging facility.

      • Do you know of any that does have in-built charging? Most of these torches need 18650 batteries and I don't want to buy a separate charger just for one battery…

        • +1

I don't want to buy a separate charger just for one battery…

          Just but more torches

          • @OzBragain: haha yeah… just did a bit more research and a 2 bay Nitecore charger isn't too expensive.. will wait and see

        • Zanflare F1 has built in charging.

          • @Stevesie76: +1 on the Zanflare. Was available for a great price (~$20) recently. Not sure we'll see that price again anytime soon though!

        • Hehe. Everybody starts with just one 18650 torch. 🤣

The Eagle Eye X2R has an in built charger with micro USB port. I have one and it's a damn good shorter range torch. Heaps of flood but is bright enough to give surprisingly good throw as well.

If you want a decent but cheap 18650 charger, you could try the Nitecore UM10 which runs off micro USB and costs only $13 inc. GST, delivered, from Chinese eBay sellers. Can get cheaper models but they're no name, they don't have LCD screen with charging percentage, and IMO they're risky to use.

  • +1

This torch is awesome. I've had mine for about 1 year and highly recommend. its igreat for spotlighting with kids whilst camping but around the campsite your better with a BLF A6 which has a wide beam

    • Agreed. Good alternatives include the Eagle Eye X2R or the much cheaper Convoy S2+ which is basic but great value (sometimes on sale for $12 at gearbest).

  • How do we add the 2 batteries to the order? I don't see it as an option anywhere throughout checkout

    • Then maybe the deal has expired. The batteries were added to the cart automatically as gift.

  • I'm getting the torch alone, on the app, for $28.07 AUD and the batteries at $16.31 AUD, totalling $44 before adding up the shipping fee by the batteries at $5.37.

All in all, without shipping insurance, the total is $54.72.

The torch alone for $28 hmmm

    • Batteries no longer offered it seems.

Tip for next time: get batteries from Australian seller on eBay. $16.88 for 2x Samsung 30Q delivered.

  • I'm not seeing the batteries, do they need to be added separately?

    • +1

Hi peblos. Unfortunately it looks like they've removed the bonus batteries. Still a great deal at $32.89 delivered.

Another good one available at the moment is the BLF A6 w/ Samsung 30Q for only $36.60 delivered or the short barrel version (not including 18350 battery) for only $26.76 delivered.

      • +1

Cheers, I ended up buying it with 2 batteries anyway. Just wish I jumped on it earlier!

Edit: and now I see your tip above on getting the batteries from eBay. Not the end of the world but I'll know for next time

  • I received a parcel today containing only the batteries. The box wasn't taped up at all and I'm concerned that the flashlight has fallen out in transit.

Has anyone else received theirs yet? Did they ship the batteries and flashlight separately?

    • +1

I'm pretty sure I recall seeing something on Banggood website about them being sent separately.

How big was the box the batteries came in? If it were to fit the torch, it would need to be much much bigger than the batteries, as the Astrolux C8 from Banggood comes in a decent size padded box.

Also interested in other people's results.

      • How big was the box the batteries came in?

155 x 120 x 75 mm internal dimensions with lots of empty space.

        • Damn, does look like it's dropped out. Have you reported it to them yet?

          • @raymosaurus: You were right. They are sent separately. Received the flashlight today. Thanks :)

            • @HomeAlone: Wow that's great. The half empty battery box was quite concerning. Merry Christmas!
