Just found this from Boost Mobile, which is better than the Black Friday deal.
PS: There was a deal from Boost Mobile that $30 Prepaid SIM for $10 ended yesterday. Wondering why no one mentioned it here.

They happily give you 45GB of data because you will have hard time using even a fraction of it on what is in my experience one of the poorest networks around.
I live in Erskineville and work in Mosman and reception is super-unstable.
gets super slow and I have to toggle flight mode or restart to get it working again on Galaxy s8
I've used Amaysim Optus Telstra Belong… and this has been the worst experience.

      Interesting.
From my understanding, they were supposed to be the only Telstra MVNO (fully owned by Telstra) to use the full Telstra network, instead of the wholesale network.
I switched yesterday, haven't had any problems, did seem to get a drop in signal though, not enough to cause an issue. Ce'st la vie, next month it'll be Aldi family pack.

      • I've noticed Telstra reception has really gone downhill. Vodafone seems to be quite usable but reception lacks in some places.

    • Did you get the sim from the supermarket? There was a bug that affected some shop purchased sims such that they couldn't get 4G reception. If anything, try getting the sim swapped if there is random disconnecting and see if that fixes your issue.

I had this. Can confirm new sim fixed the lack of 4G and reception issues. Been amazing since.

      • Maybe this. I do get 4G occasionally. But in the same location i get nothing 20 minutes later.

    • I am having the same issue here. I thought Boost has good network as its part of telstra.

  • $40 for $15 Telstra prepaid starterpack available at Coles and Woolies?

    • Online only.

  • Did anyone use cashrewards?

  • $40 for $15 for as long as you stay on the plan?

    • Only first month

      • thought so, thanks for confirming

It was posted in this deal. But the focus was on the $12 cashback, giving people a profit of $2. Unfortunately the cashback was pulled quickly, expiring the deal. So perhaps the net profit outcome wasn't intended by Cashrewards.

  • can I use this for data only on a broadband modem?

    • Yep, sure. I am using one (from a previous deal) in a 4G wi-fi modem.

      • Where did you buy your modem and which make and model is best?

        • I have the Optus Huawei E5573 from Woolworths, got it when it was on special a couple of months ago. I just checked on Ozbargain and Whirlpool to see what were available, this one had good comments and was also unlocked.

          • @Magic Mirror: I have the same exact modem as you.
What sort of speed do you get with Boost or Telstra?
I believe that Telstra 4G band B28 do not work on the Optus Huawei E5573 modem.
I have tested a prepaid Optus sim card and I am only getting 9mpbs download (not sure why so slow).

            • @he88388: It varies quite a bit for me. I've seen speeds ranging from 2-3Mbps to 18-19Mbps. Not sure why either, I guess might be congestion among other things.

  • I this new customers only? Also, until what date it has to be activated?

    • I don't think you could port you existing boost number to a new prepaid card, but you still can buy it for another number (to put in a 4G router).
As for expiry date, I got a $30 sim valid until end of 2020, but the cashback would require you to activate within 30 days for cashback.

Just buy from Woolies. They are selling the exactly same starter pack at the exactly the same price. Save your time waiting the sim to be arrived.

    • No they don't
