EBGames Buy a Game, Get a Gift Card FREE! * Selected Games up to $40 Gift Card

50

Not sure if this is a bargain..

But i am sure if you are smart enough you will find the bargain in it.

buy 1 game get 1 free gift card, spend the gift card on another game (pay the balance and you will receive another gift card, basically you get another free game out of it)

it is like pay 2 for 3.

It's just a Harvey Norman style bargain, sure the gift cards are great but most of eb's prices are ridiculous compared to an import which would most likely work if you research it. And this deal just encourages you to comeback and or buy more, which really negates this deal. But for some this might be a good deal

    • Yea true, good deal for those who like to buy locally but anyone who likes to save a buck and imports will find the prices shocking, even once you've tacked on the value of the gift card. Eg red dead redemption $88 from the store around $40 from mymemory, nba 2k11 $88 from eb but only $35ish from zaavi/hut.

  • I don't like importing games, not sure why.

I did however recently find out HN price matches ^_^

    • The wait is what puts me off imports, I've had to wait weeks for games sometimes.

They are good though, can get games less than half the price of what we pay for here, plus they're uncensored.

  • I'm more than willing to support an Australian business if they can compare to to a importer, but why should we be paying around twice as much for a different cover?
Most uk games work for us regardless of the platform

  • So do most Xbox 360 NTSC-J games.

  • nba2k11 was $48 a few weeks back

  • If we actually had any independent game retailers here I might feel bad. As the cheapest place to buy games locally tends to be JB Hi-Fi - I really don't care about not giving them my money. I haven't bought a new release game locally for probably three years - we just get ripped off in Australia. And if I can save $50 on a game, I don't mind waiting up to two weeks for it. In saying that, the last game I bought from Ozgameshop got here in 6 days.

  • Any of the games good for trade bait? LOL

  • The key to this would be combining it with this:

    EG: Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood plus RDR = $108 plus $80 credit ; )

  • Most of the games on there can be bought for cheaper elsewhere, even taking off the value of the gift card.

Heck, one of the games "Your Shape" is selling for $48 with a $20 gift card. I bought the same game from EB Games a few weeks ago for $20, $8 less than this deal.
