      They're great - won't regret it

Great headsets, I find the QC25's more comfortable and lighter than the QC35 II's.
If you don't mind the cable then these are well worth it. Great sound quality and excellent noise reduction. Use a standard AAA battery, case has room for a spare. Downside is, you need to be careful changing the battery as these have a known issue with the thin cord on the battery compartment cover breaking internally. (You can repair yourself, but fiddly and a bitch). You can not adjust the Noise cancellation levels.
Even great without the cable just for active noise cancellation. I would struggle to fly without a set of active noise cancelling headphones now.

      QC35II's
The QC35II's wireless are great for phone, Skype calls and listening to music, just without the music. They have a terrible audio lag when playing media and are heavier. Lag occurs even with the latest firmware. The lag is bad I always use the cable when watching media. If you don't update the firmware (OOTB), reports are the lag levels are tolerable, but you don't seem able to roll-back the firmware.

On the +side, easy to change the Noise cancellation levels. ie: (When walking or are seeking higher audio quality, turn to low, but on a plane or noisy bus you can go for high). In-built battery that cannot be replaced by the user and requires charging, may reduce the usable life. Not a deal-breaker but with the QC25 it's quick to swap out a battery and you are back to TRUE 100% capacity.

For day to day wireless ones are more convenient, but if you need wireless I would recommend the Sony over the Bose until they fix the lag issue.

      • All headphones in this price range should have detachable cables. It’s crazy if these don’t.

QC25's have detachable cables, just not wireless.

          • @[Deactivated]: But the above comment said a cord is prone to breaking?

            • @[Deactivated]: I am referring to internal circuitry which takes the power from the negative battery terminal to the circuit board.
It bends everytime you open the cover, and as it is so thin, prone to breaking. Poor design really.

              • @[Deactivated]: A broken wire on the battery terminal? Yep, that’s annoying, and surprisingly common even on higher-end devices.

      • thank you!

    • I have the Sony WH-1000XM3 and the Bose QC25.

In a room with two computers and a fan going on the QC25 noise cancelling was just a tad bit better.

Also heard from other sources that the noise cancelling between QC25 and QC35 are the same and that the only difference is in the features (BT, mic, rechargable battery).

    • Very good.

They’re great, game changer when flying which is all I use them for. Lighter than the QC35 and I don’t mind the cord one the plane. 37 hours approx per battery.

    RRP $399? Get real.
$189 a good price, but lose the RRP, please.

      • Love how 10 people neg my comment. RRP listed by OP is misleading so neg me all you like :)

  • I've been using mine for three years now. They are amazing. Plus the battery is easy to change.

RRP surely having a laugh m8 - Q35 is regularly below that price point (acknowledging it's on special)

      Definitely BS RRP price.

Add this sleek DIY Bluetooth adapter, and you'll almost think you own the QC35's.

  • It's changed flying for me, they're amazing.

Had 2+ years of great use, until recently one ear stopped working. Spoke to Bose, it's a known issue and I was out of warranty, so annoyingly I'll need to buy a new set before travel next year. Pretty disappointing for expensive headphones, but they were so good I will replace.

There is a manual fix for it but it's fiddly and doesn't seem to fix it long term https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EIDFvY_8184 (incase anyone else has the famous right ear issue)

    • Maybe go for the QC35s this time, well worth the extra coin IMHO. I've owned the QC15's, 20's, 25's, 35i's, and now the 35ii's, all brilliant, but wireless has meant I now use them 5x more than the wired models.

      • Do you really think it's worth it? I have Plantronics backbeats for when I want BT, but on a plane that long cord doesn't bother me too much with the 25s. I like having spare batteries with me too, and they last longer than the 35s. Also the 35s are slightly heavier too?

        • Only about 20g heavier once you factor in the AAA battery weight. Battery life on QC35 last 20 hours in wireless mode and 40 in wired mode.

My favourite features of the QC35s are being able to be connected to two devices at the same time, the ability to switch the NC off, and of course no wires!

$190 for the QC25s is great though!

  • Bought! Thx everyone

  • Thanks OP, it's time for me to use 5$ credit.

Price has gone up to $197.60 for the Samsung ones and $249 for the apple ones.
