$10 off Bone in Half Leg Ham @ Woolworths

210

Was walking past Marayong Woolies where i saw these posters up around the walls and everywhere.

I got a pretty low-res picture (on a nokia), here, and have recreated it in MS Paint to a higher-res, which is the one in the bargain link.

I am not sure if it is for multiple stores. The one that i went to (Marayong) had these posters even on Woolies' outside walls, and had a little id code down the bottom of the poster saying "Special 22/12-24/12", and nothing specifically saying Marayong. Hope that helps. If anyone does see this at other stores please mention. See edit.

Edit:
According to comments, It does seem to be Nationwide. Enjoy your Christmas ham!

all stores I believe and had them last weekend also at 2 different woolies (Merrylands and Lidcombe)
It's the $9/kg leg ham not the cheaper $7 so works out similar

Beat me to it. Got one.

    • The affected hams have a best before date of January 29, 2019

Woolies hams are made by D'Orsogna so aren't affected.

          Thanks for the information
          (Like really, no sarcasm)

        • It'll probably slow sales of other brands to some extent though.

  • Can confirm in NSW - my local woolies was making announcements today for “$10 off half leg or $10 full leg ham”

    • I don't get why woolies is so desperate - they had atleast 50 posters around one tiny store

        $$$ Sales are very slow?
Probably due to fears arising from the out of control, African swine flu in china and then the recent Listeria contamination in Australia. So trying to limit their losses before they have to much more severely discount them or otherwise bin them.

@ 10-20x the value of most of their stock and with the clock ticking they would be looking at massive losses I would imagine.

Will be some bargains after chrissy - if you're feeling lucky!

      • They want to ensure that not too much stock remains post Christmas. Hams are very competitively priced for many major food retailers.
Worst case is that way too many hams remain into the New year, and they will have to start clearing them. This means people will change shopping patterns

  • Buy from a butcher.

    • For twice the price?

    • How do you delete a comment?

  • I read this as $10 a kg and thought why so many up votes. I'll go back to sleep.

The best deal is get the smallest one. You still get $10 off.

    • That's a true OzBargainer

    • Best deal is to wait till it marks down on Monday and you only pay a small dollar after $10 off.

Had quite a few half price ones at my local yesterday. - Burleigh, QLD
Whopping great things though and the expiry was 24th Dec so you would need to have a massive family or freeze the remainder.
Not a fan of freezing though as it changes the texture. Would be fine for pizzas or steaks etc though.

Was tempted but the family are very aware of the current listeria hysteria so if they knew it was old they probably wouldn't touch it.
Don't blame them, they've got pretty weak stomachs whereas mine pretty much works like the modded flux capacitor on the BTTF Delorean lol

    +ing for the MSPaint edition.

  • No go at the Morayfield supa centre store. Showed the manager the screenshot from ozbargain and the woolies website but was told it’s an online only deal so I got a refund.

    • This is on the woolies website? And it's an Online-Only deal?

But the refund makes it fine I guess
