Gigabyte RTX2070 8GB Gaming PCIe Video Card $629.10 + Delivery $15 or Free with eBay Plus @ Computer Alliance eBay

950
PRIZE

We have allocated a fair number of cards to ebay, but since they have no system to prevent a single buyer placing substantial orders, and otherwise these would all be bought out by resellers very quickly, our systems will push them up slowly. One at a time for now.

I will update this thread once the eBay stock has sold out, but until then you can assume more cards will be pushed up form time to time.

Hi Rep, any chance of a RTX 2080 deal?

  • +2

    Seems like an Excellent deal?

  • I literally was about to buy. It's gone:(

    • +1

Check it soon, as the store rep has mentioned it's pushing them out one at a time.

    • +1

our systems will push them up slowly. One at a time for now.

  • -5

Their official store still has stock tho

    • +12

If you actually read the post tho

  • +4

It's an equal to gtx 1080 if someone's wondering.

    • +14

Lorindor at it again, trying to hoover up all the stock to resell :>

      • probably works for techfast 😂

    • +30

I'm not quite sure if thats praise or criticism!

To explain further - they are well below the price most of our competitors can buy through distribution for. Some small stores and other resellers buy from us regularly on eBay, and thats fine, but in this case if say I put 100 up automatically limited in batches of 10 which is the default for our eBay store - they would be sold in about 10 mins to resellers.

The system we are using is painful, but it allow us to spread them around to retail customers.

        • Hey TA are we getting cashback increases for boxing day+?

      • +1

He pulls these stunts with everyone and is against people upvoting deals. Just ignore him.

        • -5

You can't be more far from the truth, but whatever gets you attention, eh?

        • +1

Yeah, Lorindor likes to be on the negative side.

          • -1

@FabMan: As opposed to jumping on the band-wagon and kissing every body's ass so people will like me on the internet, I know which one I'd rather be on.

            • @magic8ballgag: It isn't a Boolean style choice you have in life, to be subservient worm or a tactless arsehole.

              • @FabMan: I never stated as such, but if I'm the latter for not following the crowd and suckling on the tite of online society, so be it.

    • +9

resellers/scalpers can go suck an egg
      good on you CA

  • Was just looking to upgrade, got one! Thanks!

  • Seems like a good deal.

  • +1

Wow. That is a great price for a 2070!!
I will hold my breath a little more for 2080 or new AMD cards ( for Free sync love) to go with my Ryzen

  • +4

RTX pricing entering reality, it's a good start.

    • prices are still the same on amazon US, i dont think this deal is a sign that they are dropping the prices.
This is just a really good deal.

      • -1

Mark my words, this price will be the norm soon.

  • I've been waiting for a while to upgrade…Cheers OP and Merry Christmast !

  • I know it's been explained before but wish we could just pick up from store :(

  • +1

Got one after plenty of refreshing - thanks!

  • -5

    0 available / 36 sold - "fair number"

    • Thankfully I had to wait so I could read some of the reviews.
      https://www.newegg.com/global/au-en/Product/Product.aspx?Ite…

      • That's been a problem on a fair few of the RTX cards unfortunately, though the 2070 doesn't appear to have been hit as hard.

Not a problem with the specific card if that's what you were worried about.

      • +1

2070 too huh? first I hear about 2080ti dying then, then 2080 and now 2070. God damn it nvidia get your shit together.

  • Crazy how little progress has been made, pretty sure you could get a 1080 for this price 2 years ago.

    • +1

Nvidia has no competition with their high-end GPUs .

  • Who else is refreshing every ten seconds?

  • -> see 1 left

'Sorry, we can't complete your checkout at this time. Please try changing your item quantity or check your account status.'

    greattttttttttt

    EDIT: got one, thanks OP

  • Thx OP. Finally got one after maaaaaaaaaaany check out refresh - Ebay start to ask me verification code for check out. thanks!

  • Awesome price! Managed to score a card after refreshing advice

  • Yay! Bought. Just got it to replace a GTX580. Will see how this goes with my OCd i5 2500k @ 4.1GHz (IIRC, that was the clock).

Only playing GTA V at 1440p @ 60Hz and will get Battlefield V.

    • +1

Won't your CPU bittleneck the 2070?

    • Bought one to replace the 980. I went around a circle, from 980 to 1070 then 1080, back to 980 now the 2070. Still got my 2600K @ 4.3. Despite what everyone's saying it's far from being bottlenecked. As is, the CPU is barely loaded to 60% let alone 100% with the 1080. Still trying to find its limit with each new GPU.

      • CPU load isn't the whole story with bottleneck. Check your GPU load, any less than 100% whilst gaming = CPU bottlenecking the GPU.

      • I can get 99% GPU load each time no problem. Even the 980 won't get to 100 (from what I can see). Don't know why. Each time I put in a new GPU to my system, I get a noticeable increase in the framerate, as well as power draw.

  • How's the warranty on these cards and who handles them?
Been reading about a few bad experiences with the card

  • Is this still valid for battlefield promo

    • +1

      Yes

      • How do you claim, bf5?

        • Someone can correct me if I'm wrong.
But I believe you need the physical product + the invoice to claim it on the AORUS website HERE
You are first required to create an account to be able to advance with the process.

    • I was just about to buy from Amazon. We get Battlefield V with card via Redemption?

    • Where? Gumtree? Enjoy the low ballers. Ebay maybe? Don’t forget to take about 13% for fees with EBay and PayPal ;)

  • Crap i got one but shipping is not till the 7th of jan for me, really hope i dont see then drop under $600 before then!

    • +1

      Drops under 600
      Surprised pikachu.jpg

Considering they're doing them in store for 699 i think you're safe for now

    • +2

Most cards will ship out tomorrow from Brisbane and to most locations probably 1-3 business days to reach people. Remote locations will take longer

      • +1

Awesome! im in Perth so i understand if you class it as remote haha

      • Great deal, though still worried about delivery. Fingers crossed it comes quickly and safely!

      • Mine says its still not left Sydney, and Australia Post now estimates it will not arrive till the 8th of jan…

  • got one. thanks!

  • Just bought the Inspiron 7580, as I understanf the graphics card on it is pretty rubbish compared to the rest of the specs, is this the kind of card I should be looking for or would it be a waste on this computer?

    • You would want to get a good PSU and upgrading if planning to upgrade the GPU on a prebuilt system.

  • Hey Rep, could you throw out a great deal on a Z390 motherboard. Would love to pair up my new i5 9600k with a Gigabyte Aorus I got from you a week ago. Just scored a 2070 from you as well.

  • +4

Bought one. Thanks. Sick of waiting for a second hand 1080ti to come down to realistic price

    • Same here.

    • Sigh it doesn’t come with dvi port

      • Yeah, i upgraded from a 1080 to a 2080 and my 120htz dvi monitor wont work, so had to throw in a 760 just to use my screen.

But if you have the space and an old gpu it does work.

  • -1

    all gone…

  • If you manage to buy now and get to the details screen but it then it goes out of stock when you "Confirm purchase", don't leave that screen. Just keep clicking confirm and the next one that becomes available will be yours.

    • ebay finally ask me to put verification code for "confirm purchase"

  • not half bad, paid about $560 for a 1070 a few month after it came out

  • +5

Thats pretty much it for now on eBay.

We have some stock still available via the shop at $699 that is reserved to cover marketing obligations (like the EDM that went out this morning), but ebay allocated stock is now sold.

    • +1

Thanks rep. You da real mvp.

Quick question: what courier do you guys use for local delivery?im heading out late arvo tomorrow, hoping to get before lunchtime. Im not even 10minutes from your shop :(

      • Mainly Couriers please in Brisbane, though we have been switching some residential orders to Aus Post due recently to issues with some Couriers Please drivers and their poorly organized drop off points where no one is available to sign

    • Thanks for a great boxing day sale! Merry Xmas

    • Wow! Was about to buy one through your site after seeing this message, but thought to double check the eBay listing one last time. There was one there waiting for me, thank you guys very much!

      Merry Christmas!

  • Wow, just in time for grabbing one.

  • i am guessing it is now completely out of stock

  • Bugger to late :) Nice deal guys !!!

  • I'm too late. Quite a good deal + BF5 code

  • Just a reminder Gigabyte customer service is beyond horrible in Australia. Consider this before you buy. Try their number for customer service on any working days and you'll find it out.

    • But computer alliance would be where we send for warranty.

      • I was under this impression too. I don't think we'd have to deal with Gigabyte since Computer Alliance provides 3 years Australian warranty?

      • Hmm previously I bought a laptop from online computer and they redirected me to Gigabyte Australia.. not sure if it would be the same case for this retailer though.

Still, you need to ask them which entity your may deal with in the future and if it's Gigabyte Australia, consider it again.

        • That sounds like it is in breach of consumer law

          • @giventofly: Oh really? You mean I don't need to contact Gigabyte directly? Where can I complain for this?

            • @[Deactivated]: I'd basically just go to them and say you're limiting my consumer rights. JB actually does a good run down of it

              https://www.jbhifi.com.au/Documents/Consumer%20Warranties%20…

              There's also this:

              https://www.accc.gov.au/consumers/consumer-rights-guarantees…

OzB should make this a sticky somewhere (if they don't already)

              • @giventofly: According to the pages, the retailer told me they won't repair the laptop for me and asked me to contact Gigabyte Australia directly. I wonder if I can still complain if the issues were eventually solved by Gigabyte but not in a satisfying way.
And thanks very much for your tips. I didn't realise that at all.

            • @[Deactivated]: In Australia it is up to you to decide. You can contact the manufacturer or directly to the retailer. The retailer makes it easier to get a refund if you need to go to your states department of Fair Trading. The retailer is breaking the law if they try and send you to the manufacturer.

              • @Major Mess: Thanks. Well in their emails they actually pushed me to the manufacturer and I had very poor costomer experience. Could I still complain for the process even if the issues (twice) were solved?

                • @[Deactivated]: Your complaints will fall on deaf ears since the issues are resolved. Let it to be a lesson for next time and be sure to let people know. So many are ignorant of our consumer laws unfortunately.

                  • @Clear: Hmm.. I'll keep this in mind in the future. Thanks anyways.

    • My one experience with them I just took the GPU straight to their service centre (avoided posting interstate and them posting it straight back). They said it wasn't normal but they got my card fixed up in a few days (new cooler, dodgy fan), so I'm happy enough with that.

  • -1

I wanted to buy one but had no monies.

  • Have these shipped yet?

  • I got a message through ebay saying shipped

    • Damn mine hasn't yet :(

      • I got the shipping notification just after 5pm today. I was one of the last to order too.
