Given that it's 2019 tomorrow I think it's a bit superfluous to say 'final sale of the year' ;)

It was a bit tongue in cheek, to be sure. ;)

  • What's a rain cheque?

    • From wiki: "rain cheque (plural rain cheques) any voucher or note issued by a store to allow a customer to get a special or sale price later if an item is out of stock."

I have the Chelsea boot trees for my RMs and they have been great.

    • Thanks for vouching for us, Kayjf! :)

  • Hi OP, I have both shoe size US8 and US7. I would like to order this https://trimly.com.au/products/the-aussie-gent-shoe-tree-pac…. What’s the size that I should selected? Thanks

    • Hi there, thanks for your interest in our products. You would be approximately a size 40 (7US) and 41 (8US). If you would like different sizes in the package just let me know.

  • Everything is pretty much sold out which is very disappointing

    • Hi Ammelb84, we are awaiting stock on a few products, but we still have many products in stock. We have prep'd a bunch of new stock for launch in the new year. It's not available in the navigation, but if you've searched through our collection you may find it. If you've done this, you will indeed see that these products are all listed as out of stock.

did send an email- with my query

    yet to receive a response

    TL DR
if you have time to post here, certainly you have time to respond :)

    • Hi V, could you please check your email. I did initially miss your email, apologies, but it has been responded to.

btw it's "rain check" and has never been "rain cheque".Probably the only American expression that doesn't need an English spelling correction.

    • Thanks for the etymology lesson. Yes, confusing the English use of cheque over check for what is an American expression.

  • Hi @TrimJim do you have any stock of full toe shoe tree men 43-44?

    • Hi Jx, sorry, as stated on the product page, this is a discontinued item.

  • Hi, are all these suitable with RMW craftsman?

    • Hi there, yes, all suitable. The most popular two shoe trees for the Craftsman are the Boot Trees and American Red Cedar Shoe Trees. The Boot Trees have a higher ankle, which supports the back heel counter. The American Shoe Tree has a rounder toe that better fills the fore part of the Craftsman. We're working on a redesign of the boot tree to make it a more precise fit, as we're finding many of our customers are RM wearers.

What's the best way to stretch across the ball of my foot? I have Obenauf heavy duty LP that I use on my other boots as a moisture restore. Or is soaking them in water a good option?

        • Good question. I'm assuming you want to stretch the width. Soaking them in water isn't my first option, as you'll need something to put into the shoes in order to stretch them. The leather can also wrinkle. You may want to consider taking them to a decent cobbler, who might be able to stretch them for you. As a last resort, there are several home-remedies to consider, i.e. the old zip-lock bag trick: put a bag of water into the ball of the shoe. Block it off with a big old sock (or sometime similar) and place said boot in the fridge. When the water freezes it will expand, said stretch will occur.

          • @TrimJim: Did I just buy a boot stretcher from a guy who told me to take my boots to a cobbler and freeze them!? (Already tried the freeze trick)

He was probably trying to sell you boot trees, as they help to wick away the moisture that ice would leave as it melts :)

OP please let me know the functional difference between

1 American cedar wood shoe tree
    https://trimly.com.au/products/trimly-american-cedar-shoe-tr…

    and
    full back cedar shoe tree
    https://trimly.com.au/products/mens-full-back-shoe-trees

also if you could let me know if in the American cedar wood shoe tree is is Made in the USA, or is the wood sourced from the USA or is it American Cedar wood in name only

    thanks

    • Sure. The American Red Cedar Shoe Tree is single-sized as opposed to double-sized (Full Back). It also runs on a twin-tube spring mechanism as opposed to a single-tube mechanism (Full Back), making it somewhat more sturdier. The American Red Cedar Shoe Trees (Red Cedar) use a spring toe as opposed to a split toe spreader mechanism, which is better for stretching out the vamp. In saying that, the Full Back works perfectly well, but the Red Cedar is arguably the better option. Notwithstanding, the Full Back is a very good, and indeed popular, shoe tree. In the US, the Full Back is the most commonly found shoe tree. In Europe, you'll find the Red Cedar is more popular. We originally purchased our shoe trees from the US, hence the name, but found shipping and the associated cost was just way too high. The cedar is sourced from America, but we manufacture it in China. Our manufacturer is the same one used by many well-known shoe brands, e.g. Loakes, Alen & Edmonds, Church's etc. Hope that helps.

      • thank you for your detailed reply.
So if I understood you right, the American Red Cedar shoe tree, with Cedar Wood sourced from America, is more popular in Europe than in America
It is also more sturdy and arguably more popular

I was also interested in knowing about the coverage in the heel area
The American one seems wider at the heel
does it follow logically that more sweat will be wicked at the heel then?
(Part of the reason for using shoe trees is to wick sweat isn't it?)

        • Not a problem. Yes, the Red Cedar has more heel coverage, about 2x that of the Full Back. The more cedar there is the greater the absorption rate.

  • Hi there, when should we expect the redesign of the chelsea boot tree to come out? I have a pair of RMs and might wait until the new shoe trees are released.

    • Hi there, we're currently in the development stage. We expect availability to be Q2 2019.

  • TAKE10OFF for anyone that missed this deal.
