Zzz Atelier Mattress Really Hot in Summer, Solution?

Happy new year everyone.

Many of us have enjoyed our popular Zzz Atelier Black Lable mattress for the last 6 months or so. It was a happy purchase, up until summer came upon us.

I found our mattres getting incredibly hot these days and it is really painful to sleep on it. I suspect many of users might be experiencing the same thing since the mattress is made up of latex.

I got frustrated and tried the Aldi Cooling Mattress Protector (Q $69.99; K $79.99). I tried it last night, it was not so bad and I managed to sleep the night. $80 for a mattress protector seems a bit high for me.

I wonder if anyone else have done anything to resolve the mattress heating issue?

    AC

    • AC only in the main bedroom and living room.

      • Shower before bed

      • Fan

  • bamboo mat

I don't find mine getting hot.

    Nope, zero issues here.

  • yeah if you got a lot of heat on you, don't get 34cm black label eurotop

just get the assured firm 9/10 so your body don't sink in

  • Can commiserate, in the last week I changed pillows and am finding it really hot compared to my old ones. I hate them, and the fact they cost me money. Finding that sweet spot of perfect mattress, perfect pillows can be a challenge. Any deviation can really affect your sleep.

  • Had the same issue when acclimating to our Sleeping Duck mattress. The solution for us was just to use less top covers i.e. a sheet or nothing as opposed to a doona. And the thinnest mattress protector/lower sheet we could find. Things settled down eventually.

    • they say 100% wool top will do the trick

      cool on summer

      warm on winter

      • Let me know how you go. We have found that using toppers makes it even warmer. :)
