Price drop on the Amazon AU store to $55 (matching the price of Xbox One and PS4 versions).

Game was only released early last month but this is historically the lowest price it has been to my knowledge; usually $62 on Amazon AU and $79.95 on the Nintendo eshop.

Decent price for new game, but odds on it will be under $40 in 3 months as a remaster?

It's already a remaster is it not? It's over 10 years old by this point.

      Great game though.

Never played any of the Tales games before and from reviews excited to pick this up and try it for the first time on the Switch, I heard if you where a fan of Octopath Traveler this is right down your alley so I picked it up.

        • Yep I'm planning to get a copy too :)
Just got a backlog to clear first…

That's what I'm saying, it's a remaster so should drop pretty quick. Starting as $59 as a remaster is a bit rich

        • Ah yeah it just reads differently. It may come down in price eventually, if you're happy to wait then do that by all means.

Dunno. Tales don't usually sell that well, yes they go on clearance, but by the time it happens you can't find stock. Then you end up paying a ton.

I bought it at $62 with a price protected credit card.

Annoyingly I received it from Amazon this week and its still unopened.

  • Played the xbox version years ago, didn't really get into it, maybe better with the switch because of the portability factor

    • Yes it didn't review that well. But personally I loved tales of symphonia and don't like the newer tales games. Vesperia has the old game mechanics so I should like it more. I'm excited about it.

I thought it had great reviews on Xbox? And great reviews now as remaster?

  • +1

I'm really not sure if I should bite the bullet on this.

Was a bit bummed when 62 was the cheapest I could find a few weeks ago.

The thing is, its only 57 AUD on Steam.

Which means by June/July its likely we'll see a 50% cut.

But the Switch does have portability.

It's a jrpg and on a Nintendo console. It will be $50 in 3 years from now then $140 in 10 years from now.
