can i port to Lebara if I am on Kogan. Both use Vodafone. Thanks

          • @stockastics: That’s gonna be painful and a very manual process. Easier to port out to a cheap optus prepaid and port back into voda network.

          • +2

@stockastics: Yes you can port from Kogan. I've done it, wife too, no probs. Probs arise when its an Optus to Optus port.

  • +5

More expensive than previous deals. Would pull the trigger at around $90 again with less data.

Otherwise excellent plan and well worth it if calling abroad.

    • +3

Last medium plan deal was $21.33 P/month, this is $20. But yes, it has been $89, but this time double data.

      • so should I do this or keep jumping for $5~$10 per month?

        • +2

Only you can answer. I did sim swapping for a year, very cheap, but it got really old after doing that every month. If you can use the overeas calls and lotsa data - no brainer.

  • Who is the service provider?

    • +2

      Vodafone.

      • Do they use Vodafone's full network?

    • Vodafone

  • If anyone here is using Lebara network can please tell us about the internet speed and any network issues.

    • No issues, it uses Vodafone. Speed depends on your location/phone combo. I routinely get 65Mbps.

    • In Melbourne CBD download speed from my mobile is 15-20Mbps and upload around 25Mbps

    • No issues in metro areas, however horrendous in regional areas—was in far south coast NSW two weeks ago and barely got anything!

      • I've got a dual sim phone so I use the discount lebara on my sim1 and the amaysim $10 plan on sim2, amaysim is using telstra mvno network so you get reception in some spots that voda doesn't. For the $10 plan you get unlimited calls/text and 1gb of data so it's handy when you need it, I use the amaysim as my work phone number. Only downside with my phone is that while i'm taking a call on sim2 I can't use my lebara data plan at the same time for when I need to Google something during a call.

        • +1

Amaysim is on the Optus network.

          • @whats up skip: Thanks guys, sorry I got it confused with AldiMobile $15 plan which I used to use and is on the Telstra network.

        • amaysim is using telstra mvno network

          Nope. Optus.

    • In Canberra even in suburbs close to Woden, hopeless reception at 2 bars. Batemans bay is hopeless. Sydney has been really good.

    • +1

Had poor coverage for most of the Simpson Desert. Would recommend a satphone and UHF instead.

      • I got rubbish reception in the Gibson desert too. They really dropped the ball in Central Australia.

    • No issues. Past Kogan user. They use the same Vodafone network.
Pretty good I'd say. No network issues that I have encountered so far. When my home Wifi goes down, run at typical slow evening speed, I switch to my mobile net.

      • Rep can u answer my question on the Woolworths deal …thanks

  • Happy with my catchconnect 3 months unlimited with 54GB for $15 :)

In the hunt for the next deal in 2 months time :)

This one does not cut it.

    • really? there was a deal for $5 18GB per month? I would love that deal

    • +1

New deal is 102 GB for $15 , Catch Connect.

  • Is there anything that gives us similar, only to call from different countries free when we are on holiday overseas ?
I'm guessing this doesn't work that way, that we can call all those countries free, but we still pay top dollar if we are in those countries and call back to Aus.

Seems a great deal for those that use high data amounts. Or have people to call overseas.

  • So unlimited international call include call to mobile? If so what is the use of international credit. Thank you

    • +1

So unlimited international call include call to mobile?

      Yes

If so what is the use of international credit.

To make calls to other countries not listed above!

    • Hi there,

International unlimited calls include mobile for the 15 given countries.
The international credit is used against calls made to the countries not included in the plan.
Please refer to the link below to check how many minutes you can get with the $5 international credit included in the plan.

  • how it will affect current plan.like i recharged 3 weeks ago for 6 months.what if i recharge again this one.so i will be getting roughly 11 months all together ?

    • +1

Yes, it just stacks on top, kicks in when your existing plan expires. Stack up to 24 months worth.

      • thanks.

  • Does Lebara charge port out fee once we have finished the 180 days and decided to move our number to another service provider?

    • +1

      Nope. That's TPG.

    • Hi there,

You would not have to pay any exit fee when you port out of Lebara.

  • can we recharge by paypal ? The Medium plan here supports paypal but doesnt seem to have the offer applied : https://www.lebaraonline.com.au/prepaid-medium-180day-rechar…

    • Hi zbmat,

Lebara mobile does not support international roaming yet, but it is in the pipeline and would be rolling out very soon.

      • Thanks… You replied wrong ;) I was asking about paypal… What about that

  • T&C seem to indicate that this plan doesn't have international roaming?

    • See above

  • Hi OP my lebara sim displays sim card not provisioned.. What does that mean? Can i still buy and recharge.?

    • Have you activated it?

      1. Buy a $2 Lebara SIM online before 22/02/2019* or at your nearest retail store.

      2. Visit www.lebara.com.au/activate.

      3. If you wish to port your number, don’t forget to tick the port in option.

      4. Follow the activation steps with your ID details.

      5. Select the Medium 180 Day Plan on SALE.

      6. Click activate to start using the Lebara service.

  • Ah, I wish they would bring the sub $100 deal back, with less data.

    • +1

You missed the $8.88 per month deal with 8.88gb.

  • Going to take this deal after my contract with Optus runs out, just a few questions. Do I need to cancel with Optus first? And does this auto renew at the same price after 180 days?

    • No and no, but you can buy the renewal now and stack it. i.e. buy 2 X 180 days at the same time now.

    • Hi there,

If you wish to get this long term plan at the promotional price, you would have to port into Lebara before 28th February 2019.
You can stack the plan up to 24 months i.e recharging with the promotion 4 times.
If you opt to go for 180 days, the plan would not auto-renew. You would have to recharge once the plan has expired.
      Hope this helps.

  • -2

This looks ridiculously expensive compared to the Optus offer same price for 12 months. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/438410

    • +1

Not the same offer. This gives you 24gb monthly, that gives you 5gb. This includes international calls and that doesnt. Not comparable.

      • -2

so what that cant justify double the cost…unless Lebara comes with similar offer at that price

        • +1

Yes it can, easily. Just because a plan doesn't suit you doesn't mean it doesn't suit others. What if you need to call overseas every day?

          • -1

@Wardaddy: Lebara has offer same plans at much lower rate then this…and specially when Optus and others have cheaper plan how can they increase the price of it ? why are you taking it personal ?

    • -1

      What he said.

  • +1

Anyway we can use PayPal for payment for this or any offers… thanks

  • Can anyone advise, how we can recharge. Do we buy a voucher or pay by credit card. What about PayPal. Thanks

    • Hi there,

If you are an existing Lebara customer, please refer to the recharge link below, enter your Lebara mobile number and proceed to pay for the plan via credit card.

      https://secure2.lebara-mobile.com.au/recharge?_ga=2.16065599…

Please call us at 126122 should you require any assistance with the recharge.

  • +1

Follow the link, there's a button to push for recharging - with a CC. Dunno about using PP, never tried. 1300 126122 if probs.

  • I have a Lebara Sim for last 5 months. I'll say it's not bad but friends do complain my phone was off or not connecting where as it isn't off. Also when I am on call There is no call waiting option and they find my phone off. Sometimes international calls don't connect. Also there is no international roaming. No call waiting.
Internet speed is fine. it worth what you pay for or you get what you pay.

Thinking to Switch to Aldi next month.

    • Sure the phone's not faulty? How often do you reboot it?

      • I am an Network Engineer. I tweak phone change its ROM and stuff. So for sure not the phone. As I even travel overseas often and use local Sim there.

        • Hmm. Got Band 5? Or has Voda stopped using that now? Did Lebara support offer any help?

          • @Wardaddy: I guess they are using Band 5 for LTE not sure.
Support is bit slow and has long waiting. It's pretty great if you make international calls for the value. Rest I wouldn't recommend.

    • Call waiting can usually be activated or deactivated through phone settings. I would check. :)

      • Not in Lebara

        • I activated call waiting on mine by chatting with the support..

  • I signed up to th large deal last uear and it expires in may. Can i stack with this?

    • +1

      Yes.

    • Hi Hikaru78,
You sure can stack the long term plans up to 24 months.

      • is this offer still active?
