  • Hey peeps,

So I purchased a Sony XZ Premium from these guys back in November 2018 and it's now causing me alot of grief now.

First the screen would become pixelated from just casual use. This happened to me a few times now.

Then the Bluetooth would constantly disconnect and reconnect with my car stereo and my smart watch.

Now whenever I take pictures, it would sometimes pop-up Memory error - SD card unavailable.

I've taken my phone once already to the St Kilda store for repair but it looks like I will be returning it and getting a refund.

I really did like the phone and that it's in mint condition but I think the issues now outweigh the positive side of this phone…

    • Please contact Sony for a replacement as it's under their warranty.

      • Hey rep,

i had contacted Sony yesterday and they told me they will not be replacing my phone.

They advised me that the warranty is covered by your store and that I am entitled to a repair/replacement or refund through the Austrlian Consumer Law.

        • We'll get in touch with Sony and get back to you shortly.
Please PM us your order number so we can proceed with the process.

          • @erroorfree: Pm sent.

I also sent an email to your St. Kilda store today.

            • @Hero: Hi @Hero, how did you go with the warranty claim?

I am interested as i wish to purchase a phone soon.

              Thanks.

@Sandshoes: I've dropped the phone off at their store on Sat. The staff there told me that they call me the next day on what is going on and whether they repair, send it to Sony for a replacement or if I can get a refund.

I'm still waiting for that call.

edit: Typing with shity tiny phone atm.. To be honest with you, I've had a pretty sht experience regards to warranty with them. I had to travel to their store 4x times now with my phone with a 40min drive in each direction.

Its a gamble when buying them. One issue with my phone is that the bluetooth would randomly disconnect from my watch/car/headphones. This would happen alot in the car when I make calls but randomly on my watch and headphones.

These phones are reconditioned for reason.

@Hero: Sounds like the phone did not meet reasonable and fair expectation, and not fit for purpose.
These things can happen. I wouldn't be driving back and forward to the shop. I'd demand they pay for courier, which is, in law, the right thing to do. Merchants for hundreds of years always paid for return of goods marked "not of merchant quality".

Hang in there man, give them three to seven days.

@Hero: Dang, really sorry to hear about your bad experience with them. I think I'll steer clear just in case.

Has anything changed in your situation with them since? Did you get your money back or the phone?

                • @Hero: You claimed warranty with us but we offer manufacturer warranty on our product, hence we asked you to claim warranty through Sony. But since they refused to you, we sent your phone to Sony for repair through our store.
We have responded to you on Fb as well as email. However, the time Sony takes to repair your phone is not under our control. We're extremely sorry you had to go through this, however we are trying our best to facilitate you.

                  • @erroorfree: Thanks for your response. Please keep me updated with the status of my phone.

  • Why is the warranty showing 6 months?

    • -3

Sorry for the error. It's 6 months.

  • Got mine yesterday, faulty on arrival with the internal gps but looks good. It had telstra branding.

    • Wife had Telstra branding too.

What do you mean by faulty on arrival with internal gps? Just that GPS wasn't working?
I may need to check the Wife's and make sure it is all good.
      Which one did you get?

      • the internal gps antenna is not working, it's only getting location data from the towers means maps location is inaccurate and jerky then disappears altogether and the misses can't play her pokemon go haha.

But when you put this one next to my s8 you can clearly see my location is accurate and smooth movement and hers is just jerking from cell tower to cell tower

    • You can either return it to us or take it to the nearest Samsung store to have a look!

Numerous emails sent and no reply. Sick of playing games with your company

These guys don't answer emails, I am stuck with a faulty phone and no choice but to make a PayPal claim. Will never buy from or recommend this store again.

  • Can someone from the St Kilda store please update me on what is going on with my Sony phone? I've been told so many things now. I called the store today and was told that Bob is the manager of the store and that he only works there on Sat and Monday. I've pm the rep and I haven't heard from you since 27.02.19.

Warning to anyone who purchased one of these phones. Mine arrived faulty with the internal gps not working. I tried taking it to Samsung for warranty as phonebot were not replying. Samsung refused to take it for warranty as the phone has been modified / tampered with. They said it has an Australian model rear glass and telstra flashed firmware but the main board on phone is a dual sim overseas version. They said it seems to have been made of parts from multiple phones and is void of Samsung warranty.
