128GB is kind of useless if it's read only.

    • +10

Technically correct… The best kind of correct

    • Please explain?

      • +3

Read-only memory is technically interpreted as memory that you can't write to. eg. a non-rewritable CD-ROM.

Hence, the joke about it being useless as you wouldn't actually be able to use the memory of the phone.

        • wait so is this still a joke or am i mentally challenged?

          • @cerealz: It's a joke, if it was a ROM it would be read only and users wont be able to save their data.

        • However the CD-ROM is no longer popular. Noone really use it anymore hence people forgot its meaning

        • I actually read it as Range of Motion then realised we're talking tech :')

No, what make you think that?

      • +1

OP said 128gb ROM. Which is commonly (incorrectly) used to differentiate from RAM (8GB) on the device. ROM = read only memory.

    • We know the OP is wrong but lots of Chinese companies don't care and write as ROM so it looks cool. As RAM is covered already they use ROM to show its got storage too. That's all they care about. ROM to them is internal storage

    Great phone. Highly recommend.

I agree! Best phone I've ever had!

  • Ive got the Oneplus 6T and love it. I got mine from Ebay just under $700 ($695 i think). Just have to wait for one of the % off sales and do your research on the sellers!

    • Omg. When was this and is this the international version?

      • Yup the 128gig/8gb model which was more then enough for me.

Was through these guys as they had the better reviews. They did lie to me about shipping time, just took longer is all - https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/OnePlus-6T-128GB-8GB-Dual-SIM-6-…

Not sure which current ebay coupons you could use, maybe this one - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/439017

Think i also used cashrewards at the time for a bit of money back.

        Anyway, great phone!

        • Although I think sellers now charge you GST

          • @neonlight: 'Australian' sellers :) Clearly they shipped it in from china which is why it took almost two weeks but they import it and send it to you so price is as it is.

            • @worthy1: My OP6T didn't get charge gst, was from Hong Kong and came within the week, guess it varies from seller to seller.

Something else to note is that on the label of the packaging, it was declared as a phone that was $300.

  • I used the Ebay plus 15% off code and got it for ~$498, not sure if that's still on or not. However, it is a great phone.

Could you give us the link?

      • The 15% off code was for your first item after signing up for ebay plus (I started a trial and cancelled). I can't find the ozbargain post sorry. However looking at this link:
        https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/OnePlus-6-128GB-Mirror-Black-4G-…
Its $515.28 Posted with the coupon code "PSAVEIT" which is a lot less than the current post.

        • Yeah it works for the one plus 6t but I think I'll hold out for when one plus 7 is announced

  • I have the OnePlus 6T mclaren Edition and in the 4 weeks I have had it.. Its been super fast and super smooth :)

    • not really comparable to this

      • That's right.. But my point mainly was the UI is super smooth and fast.

    • how much did you pay for your 6T and what is the normal market price for one?

      • I brought it from India when it went on Sale in December for about 1000$(50,000 Indian Rupees).

  • Do you think this is the best phone around this price?
