Not the same model. That one is BKE420 ($69.95 retail, the one at HS is BKE570. Check the difference here

That one is a different model. This one has a glass lid which won't burn your hands when you shut it.

        Apologies. My mistake.

  • Bought a prior model about 4 years ago. Also the Ikon but without the slight curve. I notice some newer models don't have a concealed element anymore, but not sure about this one.
After about a year the blue light started flickering whenever it has been used recently (presumably due to condendation getting into the electronics). Kettle works fine, but the blue light issue never went away.

    • actually i have the same kettle and the same fault.
the kettle itself is fine but a blue light gone.
i reckon it is some kind of technilogical/design fault.

      • That's useful to know. At least I know I didn't abuse it.
Food for thought for people who buy it for the blue light, though.

        • i am not actually complaining.
on the contrary, i am pretty happy with a kettle itself.
but blue light is not always on.
does not bother me at all.

$76 at The Good Guys or $56 after $20 supplier cashback via redemption.

    • Much better deal!

    • I agree so much I just bought it for $76….thanks so much!

    • wonder whether there's anyway to put this in the main description? i'll hate to see people miss out on saving $14 they otherwise would have.

    • Thanks man. Checked with GG. They have stock. Missus will pick one up on her way home. We've been using the same model for years. They only last about 2-3 years for us.

  • I went through quite a number of kettles over the years and I have come to the conclusion that it is something you just have to replace every 1-2 years. The one I am currently using is a Morphy Richards, it has held up quite well so far. Let's see how long it can last. http://www.morphyrichards.com.au/Kettles.aspx

    • Wow you must boil a lot. I've had the same basic stainless for 5+ years.

    • My current sunbeam is running for 10 years. It is plastic though.

    • We had 2x Illuma kettles in 9 months. The 1st broke due to a small design fault, and the 2nd had electrical issues.

    • your water is likely to be a factor…hard/soft, etc

      • It's not the water, they just fall apart after a while. The worst one was a Breville, its lid came off after 3 months of usage.

  • I'm also using the Morphy Richards we've had it for about a year now and it's boiled heaps throughout the day and still going strong. I have to admit I only brought it because of the blue light novelty! But it is a great kettle!

warning. My Mum has one of these. After 18 months the 'quiet boil' is no longer quiet and it is rusting around the lid.

  • Hey mods, please update the description

    ~ ONLY $48.40 ~

After $20 cashback and officeworks price beat of the Good Guys price.

    • Romaau where did you get that $48.4? 5% from 76$ =$72.2-$20 = $52.2.
If you get $48.4, please share the receipt with us. Thanks

      • Apologies, for some reason I thought it was 10%. The correct price would be $52.20 which is still very cheap for a $120 kettle. Although you can pick one up from Kmart for less $10 from memory.

  • Sorry, it it a real silver or just a fake for $120 ?

  • Got mine for $85 at Myer ($76 was below their cost price) as the Office works in the city does not stock the kettle.

  • Just got mine from GG for $73. Just got to send off the receipt for $20 cashback now. Cheers

  • Just got one from te Good guys for $76. This should be in the main field - its an even better bargain!

  • Bought one from GG for $70. Payless Paycash!
