How it works:

  • How is this higher than BankWest TeleNet Saver promotion at 8.25% until 1 Jan 2009?

    • It's not 'the highest around' but is one of the highest around. Hope that answers your question. :)

      • Alright. I must have missed the "One of" bit :)

  • Thumbs up from me.

About time considering how unfavourably the 6.90% standard variable rate compares to other savers.

  • Bankwest also offers the higher rate to existing account holders based on funds in excess of what was in the account as at 30th April. BUT it goes to january next year which is a further 4 months longer than ING. Given its also .35% higher. Bankwest is also opening branches throughout the Eastcoast - ING isn't. I think ING are resting on their past reputation.

You may want to edit title to show the "one of" rather than as it implies it "IS the"

    • I think ING are resting on their past reputation.

Or are too lazy to transfer the fund out (which I personally know many are!)

  • Well I think ING DIRECT will be changing focus when they launch their own everyday transaction account later this year or early next year. From what I know it will be a totally fee free account with BPAY, VISA or MasterCard debit card and access to any ATM.

    • That sounds good. Link?

  • Did the calculations for myself, comparing money already in Raboplus, earning compound interest everyday, compared with transferring money to my chequing account, funds clearing, then to ING. Even if it's only 5 days to clear at 0% … ING's extra 0.01% isn't worth it for me.
