I'd willingly pay up, if they really went to "Endicott Arm". :P

They often seem to badly cut and paste descriptions on that site.

    • +2

Wow I did not know they had ice covered fjords in the South Pacific.

3 ports in 9 nights? Most cruises do 3 in 8 nights……and why Brisbane? You'd think if you were going all the way to the South Pacific you'd spend all the available days in the South Pacific!

The Ovation is too big for most of the islands to handle.
Probably why the cruise is so cheap- for the poor itinerary.

      • What about isle of pines, cruise ships use tender boats there?

        the poor itinerary

Poor indeed….. It's the only 9 night South Pac cruise I've see where you only spend one night on the beach!

        • The ovation was meant to go to Lifou Island last year but it got cancelled. I guess the islands don’t want to be overcrowded (largest ship in Australia). The ovation uses tender boats at mystery island but it is an unhabitated island, so doesn’t affect the locals as much.

      • during school holidays. most of the time is around $200 a day. The minimum is around $150 per day non school holidays.

      • Just got off the Ovation 13 night NZ cruise this morning. We had to use tenders in Auckland and Bay of Islands.

  • Op any specials for school holidays?

    • Yep, Melbourne Zoo has free entry for kids…

  • op any special on oviation from july - dec 2019, or july - dec 2020?

  • any on board credit?

  • Highly recommend the Ovation. I think it is such a good ship you don't mind having less stops. I didn't know it ever stopped in Brisbane though!!

      Highly recommend the Ovation.

      Says Mr. Bean…

    • With the new cruise port terminal that is being built, there is finally an area that can accommodate very large ships in Brisbane. And yeah I agree with you about the Ovation. Absolutely amazing ship, I would happily cruise for 9 days on it with no stops. We spent 10 days on the ship I dont think we got to see and try everything that was available.

  • Sydney ..

  • I live in Brisbane, I wouldn’t mind a flight down the catch the cruise but would I be able to hop off and skip the final leg from Brisbane to Sydney?

    • Yes, you can as there is Customs at all stops. Just notify the ship of your intention.

    • +1

Yes you can. I did a cruise with RC that stopped in Brisbane before returning to Sydney. Quite a few Brisbane residents got off at this point.

That said, you're losing 2 nights that you've paid for.

Does this ship have enough lifeboats for everyone on board??

    • Would have enough to save them. They have plenty of inflatable life rafts on board.

      • -2

Thanks… Last time I was on a ship, they didn't have enough for everyone. The outcome was not good.

        • The Titanic.

How was it? Did your heart go on?

Just got off the Ovation this morning.
20 lifeboats carrying 267 people each plus plenty of rollout rubber rafts just in case. Ship carries 4190 passengers and 1300 crew.

      • +2

20 lifeboats carrying 267 people each

        20 x 267 = 5,340 spaces in boats

Ship carries 4190 passengers and 1300 crew.

        4190 + 1300 = 5,490 people on board.

        (´・_・`)

  • ovation of the seas has less ports of call. Not very good. I prefer to see more things than staying on board the whole time. Already long enough for going and coming back around 3 days each way without stopping.
