Limit one per account? I really do hate sites that get you to sign up without guest checkout!

    • +4

Well.. you gotta give and take sometimes! Want a good deal? Gotta make an account. Win-win situation.

    • I hate businesses, they just want to make money, it's disgusting

  • It's a ballpoint pen, not fibre tipped, so why do they call it a "sign pen"? Perhaps it is an incorrect title on ShopPro (among others) that doesn't appear on the Xiaomi description.

    • +1

I didn't neg you, but if you look at all the promo images from the launch, the large Chinese characters translate to "Signature Pen".

    • It's a rollerball tip

  • +1

Thanks Op. Just ordered pen+3 refills @ $3.99

    • Great pen. Ordered the same at the last deal.

  • +5

Got 1 with refill last Deal. Writing if not smooth, not at all!! easily get dirt mark due to matte white.

    • Yeah, it has sharp and pointy tip.
I think it's a good pen though overall.

      • I love these pens!

      • +1

The ink stuck quite often combine with pointy tip make it frustrating writing

    • I also dislike how dirty it gets, and I'm an office worker that washes at least once a week.

  • Nice. It comes again

  • OP, after making the Paypal payment I got sent back to the Shopro website where it said I paid $0.00. When I went to my order history and clicked on "Resolve issue?", it says "You are not authorised to perform this action".

    • Can I have your order no so i can check for you.

      • Yup it's 1553822501927078.

        • Sent instruction by PS. Please check.

    • I had this for a while as well, can't recall what I changed to fix it though sorry. May have been script blocking by uBlock origin or trying to use guest checkout.

      • All good now, they did something on their end.

  • Ink color?

    Blue or Black??

    • +1

      Black!

      • Thanks

  • Great product. Thank you.

  • Thanks OP

  • Thanks OP.
Pulled the trigger on this to see what all the fuss is about.

  • +3

Leaked , massively, when it worked it was ok but a bit scratchy.
Would never touch again. Only pen fail I've had in the last two years

    • Must of got a dud, I've had one 12 months and had no issues.

      • +1

Previously had two, I'm a Xioami fan but I'll skip the pens . There are better around that are more reliable.

      • I bought 3. What a waste of money.

They are fine tipped pens and I normally use medium. Fine tipped pens scratch the page and don't roll as smoothly as medium.

They smudge, and I can concur about the unevenness of the strokes. At least the ink that was included with the pen is that way. It could be a dud ink cartridge, but I never finished it to require a refill.

  • I commented on the last bin deal, but I wonder has anyone grabbed one yet?

Curious how expensive the upkeep is with having to buy the bin liners etc and how long they last.

    • Bags are $26.95 for a 6 pack or $4.45 each. Seems a bit dear. And they don't look all that big.

Wonder if you can use your own bags?

      • +1

I found out last time that a single 'refill' is a long roll (like a roll of bin liners) and, depending on how often you change out your bin, have 20 odd uses.

So, you load the liner into the bin and when you press the button to empty it, it cuts/seals off the bin bag for removal, then re-lines the bin with a new liner.

        • That's good to know. They could communicate this better though.

It still seems to be an expensive gimmick. The mouth of the bin is small so I can see it getting dirty a lot.

It's not that difficult to just tie up the bin bag yourself and put a new one in. Not sure you would want to pay $90 to save yourself a bit of trouble. I will be keeping an eye on it in case it gets price cuts. For $50 I think I could bite.

          Do you own one?

      • Bags are $26.95 for a 6 pack or $4.45 each.

Might be worth mentioning that it's not $4.45 per bag, it's $4.45 per cartridge. Looks like it's basically just a long roll of plastic bags, the bin automatically seals and cuts the bag off the roll when you press the button. No idea how long the roll is though.

  • Those bin bags are expensive.

Interested in hearing thoughts from anyone who's owned one.

    • See my above comment for the bin bag situation.

You could still be right regarding them being expensive, but they really ought to explain how they work explicitly in these adverts or they'll never sell them because it literally sounds like you're spending $26 for 6 bin bags, but you're not.

      • Does it bin itself include a roll of bags in the box?

  • Re: Trash Bin

15.5L capacity is large enough to hold a day's worth of household garbage

Holy (profanity)!! No wonder the planet is in trouble! 😮

  • +3

Not a fan of these pens and have never understood their popularity in these parts. Their writing performance is at best average (I found their ink output to be very inconsistent), they're not particularly comfortable and they don't even look good because they pick up marks easily. Better off spending the money on a ten pack of Inkjoys or similar.

    • +2

I've been saying that forever. It must be the Xiaomi mystique.

Everything about the pen is bad. A 50c BIC performs better.

    • I've only tried it in a shop and it felt quite nice. No idea what it's like long-term though. When you say inconsistent, was it … consistently inconsistent across different refills? Could it be a bad refill or a bad batch?

Better off spending the money on a ten pack of Inkjoys or similar.

The Inkjoys are really amazing. I bought them on sale at Coles a while back without knowing anything about them and was really surprised at how well they wrote.

    • I doubt half of the dudes here is from China :D maybe

    • +1

I agree not worth it at all. Way too fine tipped and often won't write on thin paper.
I have better writing performance off hotel pens I take.

    • I 100% agree with what you're saying. I was disappointed with my purchase of this pen, it didn't live up to the hype at all. Way overrated.

      • Even taking into account the price and the weight and balance of the pen?

  • Is Shopro an Australian company or an importer? i.e. do prices include GST?

My house is gradually turning more and more into a Xiaomi household. I sure hope they aren't spying for China.

    • Prices include GST and I think their stock is in Australia (my last order from them (Xiaomi powerbank) was sent from Melbourne)

  • Is the bin worth $90?

    Anyone?

Cool tech, just expensive for a smallish bin.

    • +2

I have this bin and have used it for the past 5 months. It is a small bin but we have managed with a family of 4. We haven’t had to wrap up rubbish in ages and the bin also has a internal blower which blows new bags inside itself. Very autonomous. I have gone through 7 refills in 5 months. Average cost of refills is 6 for roughly $35 on AliExpress. There is a slight plastic melting smell the minute the bin closes up the filled Bags as it does use heat to zip up the bags. I got it for $80.

  • PREMEC refills from Switzerland High-Quality ensured

    Shenzhen, Switzerland?

  • I bought the bin. Hesitated for days but finally decided to pull the trigger.

Still uncomfortable with the purchase, was hoping it would be $50 or less. Looked at price history and it's only been posted 3 times and it's always from the same place, same price.

  • Received the pen a few days ago. So far it writes really well, but only if your pen angle is more upright. If you use it more like a fountain pen (around 45 degrees), it becomes scratchy and inconsistent like some people have reported.

That's from just a bit of writing though. My refill is dated Dec 2018.
