Had the Dahl a few days ago. Surprisingly tasty!

I'm a big fan of the spicy goan and I'm a curry snob

    • +1

I make it with minced chicken and eat it with garlic naan, it's cheap and easy

    • +2

      How spicy is it?

As a lover of curries with real heat and depth of flavor, I've pretty much given up on supermarket fare that mostly promise heat and under deliver.

These are the real deal. Not targeted at the western McCurry market for a change. They're all good. Fiery Goan is superb, esp. with fish or prawns. Punjabi Channa too if you like heat. We do. The Classic Tarka and Black Makahani dhaals are both restaurant quality.

        • Thanks!

Looking forward to giving them a try.

Not spicy (for me), but the taste is very nice, it's more like a good authentic Indian restaurant than these other crappy 'curry' pastes from the supermarket

      • +1

Sometimes too much cinnamon for my liking.

Fiery Goan is my fav by far

yum - butter chicken one is a favourite, gonna stock up this time

Thanks OP. Great! Was hoping Skype cards will come on sale before my subscription renewal date :-)

17% fat same as crisps. Also made in India which is a bit dodgy, remember their maggi noodles were contaminated with lead.

How about needles in fruits which don't even need any factory processing?

These are a fantastic quick meal! We love the Korma Chicken. Perfect for the kids too. And best of all…..on the table in 20 min if you don't waste time.

  • havent even used my coles reinchecks for the dahls yet.
had a curry and dahl from this range tonight, highly recommended

  • Wow.. International calls for the next few months sorted.

  • Looking at the names of the dishes, it looks like this brand caters to the Western markets. Indians don't eat many of these dishes that commonly.

    • +3

Gee I wonder why catering to a western market might be important in Australia.

Most of what's eaten in India would probably make you violently ill. :)

I love these, really simple to make and better than my local takeaway. My favourites are the korma, fiery goan and daal, but I wasn't a fan of the butter chicken tbh

  • Catalogue says 225-300g varieties… the first 3 on your list probably aren't included

  • +1

The butter chicken is exceptional. I will be stocking up and also try a few others. Thanks for this OP

Had one of these (Butter Chicken) as a Coles freebie. Actually really nice.
$5.50 is a bit rich, but I might buy for $2.75!

  • Nice, cheap meals for the rest of the week!

  • These are great to use in a pressure cooker. So quick.

    • whats your steps for using in a pressure cooker?

  • How do these compare to the Pataks curry paste range?

I'm not a fan of Pataks' simmer sauces, but I do like their pastes. And chutneys and pickles.

    • +1

I find these much much better. Pataks tends to only give the sauce in a jar, this comes as like 3 packets, 1 is spice the other two are sauces that you add in a certain order as per the instructions. I think that's what makes it actually taste close to or as good as some indian restaurant food.
