Damn shoulda got the lexar deal

  • I know it's cheap but are people buying multiple of these? I only have a phone and a tablet and they car dash cam.

    • +1

It's good for the switch since you can just swap it out when it's full.

    • Why have one when you can have two (at twice the price)?

  • Anyone know if these are genuine? Bought some from a different seller recently and all were fake

    • +2

      Which seller?

      • +5

        oz-love-deals
The cards were not 256GB usable (corrupted after about 64GB), had poor printing and tested very slow (15-20MB/s) in h2testw
Got a full refund once I complained

Also bought two Samsung Evo 256GB microsd cards from oz-love-deals and tested them as soon as they arrived, unfortunately they were fake too but the seller refunded me within hours of me reporting it.

I feel bad for the less tech savvy who unknowingly will use these cards and loose irreplaceable memories like photos etc..

@Sunny84: Yep, checked the listing I bought from and it reports over 1000 sold.

          • @Sunny84: Hi … how u tested ?

            • +1

              @ChipsChicky: H2testw – memory card tester
Purchased same card from previous deal. Tested without any problem. Definitely genuine.

              • @g12345567: Some might be genuine, some fake? Stocked from different sources I'm guessing.

              • @g12345567: Hi guys,
First time testing an SD card, I used H2testw. It's a 256GB Samsung EVO plus and the report results show below:

Warning: Only 244158 of 244160 MByte tested.
                Test finished without errors.
You can now delete the test files *.h2w or verify them again.
                Writing speed: 31.3 MByte/s
                Reading speed: 34.0 MByte/s
                H2testw v1.4

Does that mean I got a dud? As read speed is mean to be up to 100MB/s, and write speed up to 90MB/s?

            • @ChipsChicky: H2testw

            • @ChipsChicky: 1st stwp is Hd tune and do a speed test
The real ones are quite fast

That wont pick up counterfeit seconds though.

I wouldn't buy from ebay personally

        • Why would you buy from someone with 95% feedback?

        • ditto - I also got stung this week by the same seller and am in the process of trying to get a refund (just waiting on the H2testw results) to show the seller/Ebay.

I've had pretty good past experiences with Futu. I haven't bought SD cards from these guys but I'd say they're most likely genuine. I'm going to give it a go

  • Bought a few from this one, see how it goes on whether these are genuine or not

  • When 512gb ll come under 100$ ?

    • I'd give it 12-18 months for nand processes to improve further and costs reduce

      • Ahan thanks … i can wait till thn
        .. still 250gb left in note 9 :D

    • +1

Probably when the next size up is readily available

  • There are so many variants of SD card on the market. How does the average Joe determines which one is the best suited?

    • +1

If you're not recording in 4k, or not trying to edit stuff/compile codes on your phone, dw about it. Any is fine.

  • +5

Average Joe has to ask Ozbee community This way he can upgrade himself.

  • Need a 64gb for dash cam, is $19 after code consider pretty decent price?

    • +2

It's average. If you need one now, buy it. $19 was the price I paid when I needed it a month or so ago. I was thinking about picking up a spare but will wait.

    • +2

This code has a $50 minimum spend so you can't use it for 64gb cards. If you want 64gb or 128gb it's cheaper here anyway (Pick samsung from the list): https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Micro-SD-Card-32GB-64GB-128GB-16…

  • I might sound dumb - but can this be used on a Lenovo Yoga 520 Laptop? Internal memory is too low (128gb SSD) I know there is a SD card reader which is inbuilt.

    • +1

Would work on any SD card reader slot however you may find the card sticking out of most laptops. Don't know specifically of your Yoga, you may want to try another SD card (of any capacity) first and see if its suitable to keep in there. Many years ago I broke a few SD cards by leaving them inside my laptop and carrying them around

  • Comes with sd card adapter?

    • +1

Yes, it comes with an adapter in a retail package.

  • Is this recommended for Samsung S8!?
    This one or Lexar(https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/452758)

  • Any 128gb ones cheap. My switch is full and I bought Skyrim so I had to delete Warframe (20gbs). I only have a 32gb one now.

  • +1

    Samsung 256 gb sold out

    • It's back in stock.

  • Yep back in stock

  • Will this work on Samsung S10e??

    Thanks.

    • yes. S10e Supports up to 512GB MicroSD memory card.

"Single SIM model: one Nano SIM and one MicroSD slot (up to 512GB)
Dual SIM model (Hybrid SIM slot): one Nano SIM and one Nano SIM or one MicroSD slot (up to 512GB)"

      • awesome thanks, it seems the 256gb is the best bang for buck at the moment. Which brand do you recommend??
