  • Are these just the cardboard or do they come with a switch game card for Labo each? I'm wondering if there is a core Labo set needed or something I guess… thinking about the upcoming VR option and if I need one of these to use that then I guess this is a good time to get it?

    • +3

Each set has different software. The Variety and VR kits are the best value because they offer such a wide range of things to create and do. The VR kit is already out by the way.

  • Nice one. Was waiting for a deal on the Robot kit.

  • Any advice on which of the three to buy?

    • The variety kit. It's essentially the beginners kit

  • Since its made just the cardboard, how long do you think it will last? wondering if kids spilled drinks, food, dirty hands, sweat, etc…

    • +1

      From reviews it's surprisingly robust.

    • You can buy replacement cardboard off eBay from China or just make your own spare parts.
It's generally quite robust and you can repair things yourself if necessary.

  • What age, realistically, for kids?

We don't give our 2.5 year old much screen time (an hour a week). But I can see this may good for STEM/coding learning?

I'm wondering if I should buy then let it sit in the cupboard for a few years until our child is old enough.

And if I need to buy more than one as we have more than one kid.

2.5yo would be too young for this.
These are ideal for primary school aged kids.
I have two different labo sets and my kids share them.

Go for the variety kit, it's the most versatile.

      • How old do you think though? I'm thinking age 6? Which would be too long to hold onto them for.

        • +1

          Nah 4y.o. would be fine

  • Robot Kit $49 at Amazon now!

I bought yesterday from Australian Geographic for $59.99.

    Lucky I have price protection!

  • Anyone know it’s online only or can grab one in the store?

edit: nevermind I found there is a click and collect option
