Subscribe to Topic Option Needs to Be Changed for Clarity

When I subscribe to a topic, it asks me:

Send me notifications for:
new comments
new replies
none

I want to see EVERYTHING new added to the topic, be that comments OR replies.

What do I choose to ensure I am alerted whenever anything new is written to the topics, whether that is a reply or a comment?

It's such a stupid option to put in I think.

If people are bothered to subscribe to a topic, then they want to be alerted to new comments AND replies, not just either one.

I know that this option is new, as I have been a member of OzBargain for many many years, and only recently saw this option appear when subscribing to topics.

Please get rid of this option, or add a fourth option, that says notify for "anything new at all" and alert the user.

Comments

  • new comments = all comments including replies
new replies = replies to comments you've made
    none = nothing.

Maybe we need to clarify the wording

    • Maybe we need to clarify the wording

      That would definitely help.

Or better still, just click Notify, and you'll be notified about everything.
      Like it was ages ago.
      No options to think about.
Just click the button, and you'll be notified to ANY changes to the topic.

      Simple without any un-needed complications.

It's fairly clear but to improve on it, may I suggest:

All comments = all comments including replies
Replies to my comments = replies to comments you've made

      • It's fairly clear

        I totally disagree with that.
It is VERY confusing as it stands right now.

        • Fair enough if it is confusing to you. Not everyone will think so.

As per any communication, the aim is to be brief and effective to an acceptable percentage.

I believe this is achieved but without a consensus, your guess is as good as mine.
