  • Great deals, thanks!

    • all good hombre

  • Been waiting for this to go on sale. Thanks!

  • It is the cheapest price of all time according to ITAD
Would you guys recommend playing the first one or is the second one the shit? and are these games okay to play solo or do I need friends to play with?

    • Have played both. The first one was okay, but not very memorable for me. The second one is probably my favourite game of all time. If you like story-driven RPGs with turn-based combat then you'll really enjoy DOS2.

    • I've tried playing the first game after the second, and I couldn't get too into it as there were pretty big improvements all around in the second; but the first game is still a very good solid game to play.

And definitely yes, these games are okay to play solo and co-op (in solo play, you can still control up to 4 characters). Personally I had more fun playing with a friend as we chat over voice and talk shit, but your mileage may vary.

    • Agreed with other posters that the second is far superior to the first, and is probably the best game like this of all time.

  • Worth playing with the GF on the Steam Link with controllers?
We only usually play arcade style games or racing, I feel she may get bored of this one.

    • I've been considering exactly the same thing. RPGs might be a bit of a stretch for my wife, I'm thinking.

    • +1

With the "recent-ish" update that overhauled ui for controllers, I definitely would recommend it, especially playing as co-op (online or local).

However, the game is long (my first play through with friend took a little over 100hours), and your girlfriend may get bored of it as combat can feel slow in the beginning (turn-based, and don't have too much access to abilities at start).

The RPG aspects and storytelling IMO were great (fully voiced story so not much need to read; each character has their own fully developed story, or can make your own custom character), and the game gives you plenty of control in what you can do.

  • Divinity 2 is surely in my top 3 RPGs of all time, highly recommended.

And be prepared to press Quick Save every 5 mins

5 minutes! You're living dangerously. O think my save folder was 4gb by the end of this game, no exaggeration.

Just out of interest, what's your other 2?

  • Thanks OP. Its been on my wishlist for awhile.

Arguably one of the best RPGs of its kind.

As someone who grew up loving Baldur's Gate and the like, this is the modern day equivalent.

    Amazing experience.

  • DOS2 might be my no 1 game ever. I've just started a 4th solo playthrough after intially doing co-op run first up.

  • Do I need to play the first game to properly follow the second? It seems like the sequel is substantially better than the first, but if I can't follow the story then I'll need both games

    • I just started the first one, it should take me a month or two, after beating that hopefully the second one will have an even lower price.

    • +1

Don't need to play first for story.
There is a bit of lore etc that carries over and some subtle throwbacks.

      Nothing major.

2nd is a much improved game IMO.

  • I played Original Sin II from torrents, decided to support the developers and made a purchase.

Thank you for such a great game.
