The duty cycle on this is appalling.
The minimum you want is around 40% and at this level I would still only recommend it for diy use.
For those that don't know how the duty cycle works….
= 135A @ 20% this means you can use it for 2 mins out of every 10 mins. USELESS!

    • Weld on time is normally quite low for manual process, especially stick welding. Yiu have to weld, grind, clean, change electrodes etc

Well for someone thats just wanting home use I dont think 40% duty cycle is really needed? That figure is really something youd look for if you were using it everyday I think. Far from USELESS also… Think about a DIYer in his garage making some brackets and welding some pipes up? Show me an example of a welder thats got 40% duty cycle but also at a price point for the home user. Thanks

I'm not sure who would find this welder useful. I wouldn't recommend it for a beginner - with no gas it will be hard to do a good job, and a competent welder wouldn't touch it.

As with most tools if you intend to use it more than once get the best you can afford - not the cheapest available. Quality brands for Mig/Tig welders are Unimig and Lincoln.

Even some of the 10A plug ebay cheapies are probably as good or better than this. CIGWELD are a ripoff for what they are.

    It's worth looking around.
