That was lucky, my phone had to be formatted last week and I Remember I had topped up my myki and transferred it to mobile myki with $250 on there,
because I formatted my phone, the mobile myki came off my phone and disappeared,
luckily it was registered under my account, or Iwould have lost it
be careful everyone!
In theory, it should work; however I have not personally tried. I find auto top up easier.

no you cannot use myki mobile to top up on bus consoles, card vending machines, retail device e.g. 7/11 and newsagents, quick top up enquiry machines and station ticket office machines.
mobile myki can only be used on myki fare payment readers, blue myki checks, barrier gates and ticket inspector handheld devices
some bank cards cannot be added to google pay as it is up to the financial institution to make some agreement with Google pay.
I've found google pay inconsistent with cards overall but works well with Myki.
I have a bankwest zero mastercard on the account which I can paypass with, as well as a citibank card which I can't paypass with - but Myki accepts payment via the citibank card. Handy as my citibank card is my points collecting card.
myki is so annoying, everyone should register because often overcharges occur.
especially if buses are involved.
It happened to me recently as well. You can just contact Google Pay customer service agent via chat and requested the myki card number. Then request a refund or balance transfer with the number on Myki website!
