That air fryer is amazing. We've had it like two weeks now and I've used it almost every day. Barely need to use the oven.

Sadly I bought my airfryer for 399 last month and claimed $50 cashback.

Worth every penny. Makes my soggy kfc crispy again.

    • +1

Get yourself a 28 degrees credit card has price protection for 12months could have claimed that $100 back :(, no annual fee, leave it on the side use it for all high end purchases that prices change regularly .. plus all the other benefits it comes with

      • Make sure you pay the balance of your 28degreescard by the end of the month though as you will get charged a fee.

        • +1

I use their automated payment. Pays my balance right on time automatically.

          • @yanman: You need to have zero balance on the account BEFORE the statement is generated, otherwise you will incur the fee. Once the statement is generated the direct debit will then occur.

    Bargain

  • $300 air fryer worth it over the $100 varieties?

    • +2

Yes, the Philips one is much faster at everything.
The cheaper ones may be rated similarly but it’s all in the speed to get to the right temperatures and holding it there.
Source: Parents own an Aldi one.

I wouldn't pay $300 for one. I got the $70 Kmart one, does a good job. Frozen fries done in about 12 mins, nuggets under 10, sausages under 10. Maybe this one does them a tiny bit quicker, but it doesn't look like it according to their booklet. If you need a bigger one this might be better? Or just buy 2 and cut your roasts in half. I preheat for 3mins and it seems to be at the right temperature, already ready to crisp up, or burn when I accidentally set the temp too high for my food. I haven't used the expensive one though, so it may be better and quicker than the booklet says and maybe it preheats even quicker. But for my needs the Kmart one is great.

      • +2

Agreed, I got the Kmart one and it is awesome.

We also ended up getting the Maxkon 7L 1800w for $119.00 on ebay for bigger items. We can easily do steak and chips cooked to perfection in like 12 minutes using both at the same time.

        $300 is way too much.

The Philips is overpriced for a fan induced electric oven. The Philips cooks slightly faster because of the higher wattage. Bought the tefal one for under $100 a month ago and it works fine.

  • qantasmall still works https://shopping.qantas.com/ebay

Not the best price, but would recommend the Ninja op 300 you can airfry a whole chicken. It is amazing. I can also do pressure/slow cooking and rice.

  • Conflicting info.

    XL or XXL?

    • +1

      HD9651/91 Is XXL

Waiting for the Smart oven air which is far more versatile.

  • Bought one, AU $296.90 for me, sigh…

  • It looks like Myer's Click and Collect has disappeared! Grrr

Total layman here but what are the advantages of an air fryer over a normal oven?

I did some research online and most reviewers say it's more of a convenience thing even though it doesn't cook nearly as well as a convection oven and is only 5 minutes faster in cooking times. Should I just be sticking with my normal oven?

    • It’s not worth it unless you have heaps of cupboard space. Performs slightly better than an oven.

    • +2

Cooking time might only be 5 minutes faster for those reviewers, but that doesn’t take into account the many minutes of time the oven takes to heat up. For me air fryer is 30 minutes faster to cook frozen fries. Plus it cooks as well or better than convection oven, particularly because food isn’t sitting in a pan, but cooked from all sides with hot air.

      • +1

I find the air fryer food crispier than oven, cooking time usually around 1/2, preheating 3mins instead of 10+. I actually got mine because I didn't want to get a deep fryer because I hate dealing with all of the oil and it's exceeded my expectations, no desire for a deep fryer. I have extended its use and don't use the oven now.

That's the $70 Kmart one, can't comment on others.

  • It took me 8mins in this fryer for my 13 lamb cutlets. They taste amazing and all that fat left behind. Very impressed with this machine.

Just a warning for those buying from the Myer eBay store. They have cancelled multiple orders in the past without communication if they don't have stock in their fulfilment centres (even if there's stock in-store). They don't give the option to wait for re-stock, and don't expect to be able to reuse eBay codes if you miss out because of this.

    • +1

Have happened with me as well…waited for a week and when followed up said that they cannot find one for me so will cancel it.
Bought kmart one next afternoon does what it says it does.

    • +2

I agree 100%. We all ordered this air fryer on the last deal and myer refunded us a week after without an explanation. Now I got all these nuggets and chips in my freezer, I was super pumped to try it out. I feel cheated shame on you myer

    • I got cancelled until I contacted them

    • We had the same sentiments towards Myer from the last sale as well. 4 purchases were cancelled from us and 3 friends. Some was as late as a few weeks later.

We were hoping this time will be better and got confirmation of a cnc this afternoon. Saving us another $20 for waiting 2 months was the irony.

  • Dyson V11 Absolute for $917 or Torque Drive for $840?
What's the difference and is the difference worth the extra $77?

    • +1

Difference is, the Absolute comes with a Dyson Soft Fluffy Cleaner Head. I bought the Absolute, and really only use the torque drive head due to laziness.

      • Thanks, which is better for hard floors?

        • +1

Both are good but the fluffy is better for hard floors.

  • What’s the maintenance/cleaning like on the air dryer? Many moving parts or easy least chuck it in the dishy washy?

    • +1

I hand wash mine. Easy and doesn't take long. You can also throw it all in the dishwasher, but it may wear out the non-stick surfaces.

  • Would like one of the airdryers but even the XL model is 42cm high. None of my cupboards are that high, and I don't want this permanently out on display.

  • +1

Myer has sold 150 units after I bought yesterday morning (not sure how many before my purchase). They canceled several orders last time ( a few weeks ago), there is a high chance the orders get cancelled :(

how can they list more than 200 units if they know they don't have stock. disappointing.

  • HD9240 for $230 at DJ’s - Toowong last one.

There is one display item left at Indooroopilly, and Chernside.

Two left at Sunshine Plaza, Maroochydore.
