I'll be waiting for the post on the Bell Tower Times by tonight.

  • Where does it say limited to 2KG on the flyer? I saw the flyer in my letterbox

    • Yeah I don't see that anywhere. Take the flyer in when you go so they can't deny you your 100KG of spuds for $9.

    • The back page says "retail quantity only" which I presume is 2kg?
I've heard the spuds are the baby, unwashed variety and not worth your time.

      • I prefer unwashed potatoes. So will be hitting the 2 nearest Spudsheds tonight then

        • Spend half the night peeling enough for 1 pot of mash?

          • @2023: Never use baby potatoes for making mash; roast them whole or boil and eat them whole.

(Unless you're up late watching the World Cup Cricket 😉)

      • Inaloo has quite large Maris Pipers for 9c/kg. 2kg/person signs up.

      • Fair enough mate. Last time they gave potatoes away for free, and whilst there was a limit of one bag per person, they did not bother to check nor weigh the potatoes when I went thru the check out.

I made a massive pot of curry that night!

Yesterday they had no limit at the store. People were buying onions by the trolleys.Yes they love to cry ! Today I noticed they had signs up saying 2 kgs only.

    Google the spud shed bloke.
    He's a cracker.
He's doing his best to crack open the WA potato cartel.

Galati is a living legend. No wonder kids dress up as him for book week and blokes have Galati themed fancy dress parties in his honour! Not all hero's wear capes

I lost respect for him when he agreed to a settlement and then set about breaking the terms. The settlement was not imposed, it was something he agreed to. He should not have put his name to it if he had not intention of complying.

      • Maybe he couldn't sleep soundly every night knowing that he was part of a cartel and ripping people off so wanted to get out of it?

  • Just like ALDI crack on Australia ripped off cartel: COLES WOLLWORTH IGA

    • Please do tell, what is WOLLWORTH?

I was hoping to buy over
    a quarter tonne of potatoes
to go with the Australian Own
    long life milk I bought.

    Half a tonne of mashed
    potatoes. Yummo.

    • Underrated.

  • Spudshed is the gift that keeps on giving

  • Inaloo has stacks of all 3. Small carrots, huge brown onions, and good sized dirt on Maris Piper (the best for mash by far) potato’s.

2kg of each vegetable per person signs up although the checkout assistant didn’t mind we were a little over.

  • Nice one, thanks OP

  • Does it round to 0 if I buy 2cents worth at a time?

    • Yes. That's a standard technique in the OzBargainer toolbox.

(And you keep going back through the checkouts until you hit your limit of 2kg. You end up saving an extra 18¢!)

      • do you value the 20+minutes of your time taken to do this at 18 cents?

        • Clearly, my comment was tongue-in-cheek.
