Looks like a useful app.

Track helps you spot unexpected changes in your files. You can monitor all changes by viewing a chronological summary or by exploring files.

Whether you want to monitor your personal documents, a shared directory or a sensitive folder, Track automatically scans these files so that you can view a history of each file change. You can track the files that matters to you by filtering on file extensions or modification dates.

Track does not collect or send any personal or anonymous data. Therefore Track does NOT require internet permission.

  • That's pretty awesome! Well it would have been 5yrs ago when I mostly used windows :-)

    It might be handy to monitor a dummy file and alert when it changes, as it might indicate suspicious, like a crypto locker malware infection.

    Found this amusing;

    "What’s new in this version"
    • Tons of bug fixes

    I wonder if tons are still left?
    .

    • You can only take tons out of megatons.

    • Sounds like most changelogs nowadays haha

      To find where certain apps write/update their config setting, etc.

        Ah, yes, that's it! I was sitting here wondering where my apps write/update their config settings, but finally, I can really nail down this problem!

          You're being facetious. I for one actually find it pretty handy, and I'm sure other more tech-minded people could get some use out of it too. I've had situations where program settings have been corrupted and I've had to search for their caches and data to restore from a backup, this makes that process a lot easier. Remember, just because you don't find it useful, doesn't mean other people don't, and there's really no need to be a dick.

            @HeyItsJono:

            really no need to be a dick

            Then stop being one ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  • so basically a git.
