funny you say that, I bought this Bosch about 5 months ago (had no problems as of yet) to replace my LG washing machine that lasted a measly 5 years- was quoted around $300 to fix. Also doubt you can find an LG 7.5kg front loader for $350 anywhere right now

India or not , these washers are excellent.

yeah 5 to 7 yrs is the avg these days. i had a samung lasted 7 years and the arm corroded. so bought lg with extended warranty. only time will tell how long this lasts. i boughy mine from harvey on special for 350

          • @cipher: Corroded spider is normally from only doing cold washes.

Put a calendar reminder to do a hot wash every few weeks to dissolve any powder stuck on the drum holder.

  • Do the Boschs have a 'daily' type wash that you can use for everyday washing at full capacity - ie 7.5kg? I've heard they have the 'speed perfect' setting which reduces cycle time, but doesn't this limit your load to 4kg?

My current Samsung has a great Daily Wash cycle - it runs for about 1 hour and you can use 7.5kg.

    • Yes it does. Mine has a 59 minute ‘easy care’ cycle. Perfect for daily washes

      • Can this cycle take a full load or only 3.5 to 4kg?

    • Speed perfect is an option that you can apply to any wash cycle that effectively does it roughly 30% quicker than what it would normally.
You are correct in that any time this is used, the max load generally recommends 3.5-4.0kg only.

  • I can’t see this appearing on HN website when following the links/filters to front load washers in ascending price order.. is it just me? I’m in the market for one now and this seems like a good deal especially when paired with the HN Amex offer, but I hadn’t come across it…

Get Harvey Norman to price match the Bosch 8kg Ecosilence for $698 (priced at $989 at HV). See last page of this catalogue: https://www.eands.com.au/catalogue/

      • Thanks for the recommendation - but the catalogue doesn’t show and I can’t find the Bosch there at $698. Also given the 7.5kg from HN will cost me $485, is it worth the extra $213 for the extra half kilo increase?

        • +2

If HV price matches, which they should, then you use your Amex card you will be getting the discount off the $698. This means you will pay an extra $163 for a machine that not only has a larger capacity but is so quiet that you can set it to wash in the middle of the night when electricity is cheaper. Over the years you will recoup the extra outlay.

Make sure the E&s website can access your location. I'm in Vic and the catalogue displays the promotion. If you are elsewhere and there is no catalogue for your area, try turning your location off and put in a Victorian location in the website to access the same catalogue I'm seeing.

          • @Kikiriki: Makes sense. I’m in Tas but will try it with them later today. Thanks again!
