  • Wouldn't using two blankets have the same effect?

    • Scuba Divers wear weighted belts but I’m pretty sure using two belts would have the same affect too

Edit: supposed to be around 10% of your body weight. People do make their own

Some people find two (or more) blankets too hot. The weighted blanket gives you that weight without the warmth. It's especially helpful in Summer when people with sensory issues end up making themselves sick using heavy blankets and doonas to sleep.

  • Has anyone got This and absolutely loved it?

I got this, and I already had a Neptune. I have sensory issues, so my take on it woudl likely be different from someone who just wants the weighted feeling… the neptune is /much/ better. But much more expensive. I can sleep with the Neptune, as it conforms around my body and doesn’t feel heavy, it feels like being hugged. This one feels heavy and pulls, which is a /much/ less calming experience. I think this one is fine for having in the living room to kinda make me feel safe when I’m feeling exposed. But it is not as sensory sweet as the Neptune blanket, it makes more noise, it pulls and sags, and anyway, is just not as nice as I had hoped (but in some ways felt better about having spent so much on the neptune.

The recommended weighted blankets should be 10% of your body weight:

How does that work? The larger blankets are also thicker?

More gel ball things to weigh it down

      • So the larger blankets have more balls per square meter? Or is it just marketing? juzz0's comment below sums it up better.

would love to hear a genuine review as I am really wanting one of these and the price is right

      I did a review above.

I'm very confused as well because ostensibly the weight of the blankets are dispersed over a smaller surface area and thus a queen naturally needs to be much heavier

    Single is 91 x 122 cm = 11102cm2

    Queen is 121 x 182 cm = 22022cm2

Weights - 3.4kg and 6.8gm (both are dispersed in the same equal pattern across grid-sqaures)

The weight you will feel per square centimetre is roughly - .306 grams for the single and .308 grams for the queen.

Unless you are planning on doubling over your blankets then the Queen will not feel any heavier than the single blanket.

Silly marketing to try and up-sell those simply looking for a single blanket? Possibly.

BTW this is right up my alley; my long-term ex constantly complained about how 'heavy' the blankets were on my bed (I usually put three), how she felt like she was suffocating in the sheets (I always tuck them in to military standard - feels better) and that she thought I looked like I was a corpse in a coffin sleeping dead straight on my back (I can't sleep on my side, which sucks I guess if you want someone to fall asleep hugging/spooning you).

    Such fun times.

Ahh the little gems we learn about ourselves via our ex's…

  • nvm—I loove heavy doonas so I purchased the queen and will most likely double it over- seems like the best price on the market atm-looking forward to trying it

Got an email today saying my order has been cancelled-no explanation? Anyone else get this- I am getting to the end of my rope with Spotlight atm:((

    • Spotlight sucks for customer service. Don't stress.

      • They ran out of stock. I Facebook msg them. I purchased a pillow as well, that got sent without the blanket. So now ive paid $9 shipping for a bloody pillow that I wouldn't have ordered by itself.

I didn't get the option to cancel. Should I be able to get a refund on delivery?

        • Good luck. They are literally the worst customer service ever. You have to go in store for any sort of service. You can try online, nothing to lose.
