  • Great find!
Lets hope they follow through with it.

  • First of all it is really for $19.00. However it may have sold out or was an error because they do not have any stock (backorder) and apparently "Product KOV570 cannot be back ordered".

  • Same story for the Fuji F20 which is listed for $29.95.

    • Who managed to order an F20?

      • Hey! Who took my Kodak V803 =p

  • cannot order any… no stock

  • Yeah, sold out..

  • Gone too soon.

  • Sorry guys, it seems I ordered the last one…
man it was close, cos I had to create a new account etc. Ended up being close to $30 with P&H + shipping under $50.

We'll see if they do same day delivery!

  • nooooo not available on backorder…. great deal though

  • good find :) unfortunately it's all gone..

    • not worth a negative if your too slow ;-)

      • it's only for indication that the deal is no longer valid :-)

no offense to the poster though.. great find (as i said earlier)..

    • Gee, bit tough giving it a -tive, when the stock is all gone…

      • Thought so. If one is voting on the basis of the deal is expired or out of stock, one would have to vote negatively for the hundreds of deals that have expired or out of stock. Although eshan probably can edit the deal to reflect the fact that it is out of stock.

        Alan

        • For most of the deal, I appreciate that there is time limit (ie, few hours to few days or weeks), so I rule out giving out -ve vote for those expired deals.

This post is unique in its own matter. Because it was on clearance, it might be only 1-2 left and it would be gone within minutes, hence, to save the misery of other users, then I disheartenedly voted neg-.

      • Eshan,

As I said earlier, I appreciate your effort in putting the deals and I would give you positive vote for that one.

The -ve is only for indication that the deal/product is no longer available, since we as the users can not rule out that the deal is no longer available.. so, I am so sorry if my -ve might offended you.. nothing personal.

        • -> Scotty or Ozpete

If it's not too much work … what do you think of a button so people can flag deals as "Possibly expired/out of stock/no longer available"

          Kind regards

          • @SomeGuyOnOzB: that would be open to abuse. People could use that button to reduce the 'competition' on the hottest deals.

if they have to make a post as well they could still abuse it but it would allow for some accountability.

  • By the way, if you missed out on the under $200 Western Digital 1TB Essentials 3.5" Hard Drive, its now $249 ATM.

  • Doh. Out of stock at my local as well :P

  • Sorry all, i bought 3

  • Damnit! Missed it! I want one!

  • I want two!! :(

  • Lets cross sltsta's arm.

SLTSA, Ill give you 40 bucks! haha, double your investment!

  • Anyone actually got the camera for $19???

  • As for voting negative on an expired deal, that really isn't necessary.

    1. if its expired it will be listed as such - ie there is a date field If thats correctly filled in, then no need to give ita negative
    2. If its no longer available, a comment should suffice, then a moderator like Jeffery, Scotty or I can change the posting. Or the original poster can do that. So leave the moderating to the mods.

If say you suspect there was no stock ever then thats different matter. But be careful please. Negative votes not justified can deter people from posting a deal, just like no votes do. If I find a posting gets no votes for a particular item, I'll probably say people here aren't interested and wont post something similar again. Likewise a lot of positives tells me that this is something people here value and I'll share similar again.

Also a deal one week may not be a deal next week as a competitive offer now exists. Is your negative vote appropriate as it was a good deal originally. Likewise it may draw out comments from others on better offers, so that helps us all.

If a deal is expired and the mods or original poster dont update the posting after a reasonable time, then a negative vote might be appropriate. Then a comment like "its expired 3 days ago" and a -ve vote, would be appropriate.

All the above is MY personal opinion, not official OZb policy.

  • I have marked the deal as expired. As it has been said that there is no point voting a deal negative because it is expired. Sooner or later a moderator will come in and mark something as expired anyway.

  • sorry dont mean to rub it in…but I just received my camera at work just then :P (ordered at 10am today)

wow, very impressed with Officeworks. Thanks heaps eshan for posting, what a champ!!

  • Missed out…but good deal nevertheless. Thanks for the post.

  • I got here too late but I gave a +ve just for the quality of the find. Simply brilliant. Isn't officeworks required to stock a certain amount of stock if advertising a sale.

  • I just missed out!!!
Does anyone have one that they would like to sell?

  • How can you tell if its sold out?

    It says it's "Available online"

  • Its sold out say sso on the cart, called Officeworks too!

  • Is Kodak camera any good? I used to have one, but the picture quality sux. Anyway, with $19, it makes a great toy for kids..~

  • never existed

    • The deal is genuine.

    • why dont you read the comments - stonedewok said he received one 4 hours before you posted your comment. please think before you act.

  • Rayearth..Ill pay you double for one..haha.

  • Speaking to a mate of mine based in Perth about 2 hours ago about this deal and when he tried to buy one he succeeded!!! Makes me think that Officeworks have a state based inventory! Again, I may be wrong :-)

    • Nah, i tried to get one since before, and I'm in WA. Can't get any. :(

      • Weird, wonder how he managed…

  • damn i woulda ordered lik 20 LOL but grats to all the luck as people that got it

  • They had a Kodak V803 for $49 too. Same deal - out of stock, can't backorder. Boo.

  • I'm in WA and got mine delivered today.
Officeworks are great, I would steer clear of Harris Technology specials though.

  • assuming officeworks did stock an adequate (ie. legal) amount of cameras for this little sale…

IS THIS pretty much one of the best deals ever seen?! i mean, i remember that camera was released maybe 2-3 years ago, and yeah, it was quite expensive (about $350).. isn't it a compact camera as well? not like the less than hundred-dollar chunky ones you always seen in catalogues. it's got pretty much all the same features like the highly-awarded Canon IXUS series.. which i eventually bought (which to me was a little dissapointing, i am probably underwhelmed, as so many people recommended Canon IXUS to me and all the reviews were good)… but my Ixus 60 produces very grainy images, and has a poor flash, which other (cheaper) ones have no probs.

anyway, i hope there will be more things like this! congrats to everyone who got one! and i also hope it doesn't indicate that kodak are losing revenue or financially failing or something!

    $19.00 !?!?! man, that's amazing.

    • Hi BBud,

I also use an IXUS 60. I find using lower ISO settings will fix up graininess, but then, a tripod may be needed. Have you tried lower ISO settings?

What do you mean by poor flash? Mine's been fine, though it's pretty powerful. Best for targets at 2 - 3m away. Closer and I run the risk of whiting out the picture.

Not sure if that helps …

      • Hi! well im glad i input a comment (although relatively irrelevant to the actual bargain post..sorry).. but i will try to reduce ISO… in my spare time i should try and learn all these things too!… i dont really know what they do… but as for the flash i just blamed that, for i either had grainy images or washed out images with the flash. the problems only occur indoors and low lighting conditions… out in the sun… its basically flawless… but thanks foundit!

    • Agree. I 'downgraded' from a powershot to an IXUS and I found the same result - the pictures were visibly more grainier and poorer looking. My next camera will be a Powershot or something higher. The Ixus makes a good pocket camera though!

  • To the people who are having issues with grainy images, it's because they're trying to fit too many megapixels into too small a space, I've had to use a DSLR much more often than I would've liked to get half decent photos. If you are buying a new camera look out for their "High ISO" performance and make sure it uses real optical IS.

  • Hi! Does anyone know of a way to obtain this camera currently ?

  • Well, no answer. Is anyone interested in selling the camera ?
    sltsta, stonedewok, RayEarth, hellrazorone ?

    Cannot find this anywhere else..
